Tomorrow I have the opportunity to interview for my dream job. As I prepare to take on the first scored portion of competition a few thanks are in order.

To my family and friends, thank you for every long phone call, practice hairstyles, words of encouragement, and for keeping me inspired to chase all my dreams.

To my sponsors, thank you for your generous donations and more importantly your kind words, constant support, and for helping me get to the Miss Delaware stage.

They say you are made up of a million pieces of every person you have ever loved and this experience has only made that feel more true. As I interview for the job of Miss Delaware I will have a piece of each and every one of you with me and that means the world.

Our final phases of competition are private interview and onstage conversation:

Private interview is worth 30% of a delegate's score and is the opportunity to form connections with the judges while sharing your opinions, accomplishments, and ambitions.

Onstage conversation is worth 10% of a delegate's score and shows their dedication to the service point of the crown while highlighting their intelligence, personality, spontaneity, and charisma.

These two phases of competition have always been my favorite because they allow me to connect with the judges, share my story, and be my best self.

The next phase of competition is.... Evening Gown!

Evening gown is worth 20% of our score and is based on how the delegate carries themselves and their composure on stage. This year I picked a dress like nothing I have ever worn before, and I'm beyond excited to walk the Miss Delaware stage in it!
