Gabe is planning for this years 4-H and FFA breeding season for his Californians. He just got an amazing new buck, Outlaw. Outlaw placed 6th for jr. Bucks at the 2024 ARBA Convention. He is excited to see what he produces. Max is not too shabby with many BOBs and BOSBs. He also won champion Californian at the OR state fair, he has been honorable mention a few time at the BIS table too. Gabe has 4 does lined up for Outlaw and 4 does lined up for Max. Let’s just say we will have a few babies for sale if they all take. They will be bred in April and will kindle in May, so they will qualify for the Yamhill County fair as market rabbits. Last years babies were 1oz shy of 5lbs. One was 5.5lbs and he ended up keeping her and she has won a few BOBs and BOSBs and ARBA shows. Logan has taken a major leap into his uncomfortable zone by deciding to choose rabbits as a project. Well, the first time we brought Gabe‘s mini lop home Logan saw him and fell in love with the floppy ears and the cute body, and how snuggly and soft Brouhaha was. I knew we needed another mini lop. I had originally contacted the breeder who we got Gabe‘s rabbit from and she got me in touch with another individual looking to place a mini lop buck only the exact thing we were after. This was a unicorn search because I needed something that was to ARBA standard, that was calm, sweet and easy to handle for a new rabbit handler. Let’s just say all the boxes were checked! Logan met him and snuggled him and it was love with the first snuggle. Next thing I knew he was watching YouTube shorts with his new rabbit, Silver Banshee aka Mr. Sigma aka Banshee. I want to thank Paddie Cape for allowing Logan to own him. I think he is really excited to show off his rabbit and his rabbit handling skills he has been learning.

Logan has been quiet for sometime taking a break from 4-H. However he is back! He will be dabbling in rabbits, seeing if it’s for him. He is for sure will be baking and cooking this year and participating in Arts. I am happy he is returning to 4-H.

Can I just say that I love the fact that the rabbit transporter I chose for uses a tracker so I can tell where the rabbits are at any possible moment in time. Right now they are in St. Joseph, Missouri. I hope they stay safe, snow has fallen in many of the locations they have and are traveling.
