Well, I've submitted my completed manuscript to the publisher, so it is their turn to work their magic. Soon, my newest book will be on sale. So far, this could be my best book. Here is a little teaser for you. Enjoy the wrap around cover, too.
"I waited two days, before venturing out to the south. As I walked through the mangled ruins of what was once civilization, I found myself distracted by the events of the other day. I hoped I wouldn’t be interrupted by another group of nomads, if that’s what they were. This time, I was ready. Ironically, I just wanted to be left alone, so I could explore the myriad of ruins in peace.
I looked up and around me, as I pushed forward. The jagged shards of forgotten edifices had become shells of their former existence. Scattered piles of bricks, stone, wood, broken glass, and sharp rusted metal had become the new foundation of the abandoned wasteland that went on for miles and miles. I wondered how long ago it had been when some of the taller towers collapsed onto the smaller structures. I could see there was evidence of it along the roads between the decayed buildings, which had become no more than overgrown trails for lone wanderers like me.
Unless I’m the only one left to walk these desolate pathways and explore the surrounding ruins. Was I somehow becoming a nomad? It’s an amusing thought.
When I look around at these fragile old constructions I can’t help wondering what they must’ve looked like before they deteriorated. Before they began collapsing and crumbling into piles of rubble and dust. According to mom’s journal, it’s been about three decades, since these mountains of debris resembled an actual city. That’s more time than I’ve been alive.
How majestic it must’ve been to walk along the paved roads in between. Riding vehicles from one place to another. I bet it was a lot faster than walking. I could only imagine how it felt to gaze up and see the shining glass of hundreds of windows reflecting the sunlight of a beautiful summer day. And all the busy people that must’ve been walking around going from one place to another. I always imagined the old cities being overcrowded like in the picture books of the library."
