Towards a deeper understanding:
The vision of the Black Chamber of OC is to invest in business and build healthy communities.
With Advance OC,
HEAAL,
OC Community Foundation,
Black Chamber Advisory Board,
Anaheim Mayor Aitken,
and La Palma Mayor Marshal Goodman,
we engaged members of the OC Black Solidarity Network,
Kaiser Permanente,
Santiago Canyon College,
UCI.
CSU Fullerton,
City of Hope,
New Hope Presbyterian Church,
100 Black Woman,
Arts and Learning Conservatory,
GREEN Foundation,
and others to look at Equity in the OC and the OC Black Blue Print
to address health disparities and the need to access resources
to access health and mental health services, economic opportunities, jobs in the health field and others fields
where Blacks are underrepresented, support for our Black elected officials, affordable housing, and other disparities.
In our action sessions, we proposed solutions and identified lots of groups but the call to action is that we need to work on unity building that focus on a new narrative on resilience
and building healthy communities through visibility.
We had a peaceful, loving, respectful, and solution oriented event.
No violence.
The Black Chamber will be announcing a series of events to move forward with various groups.
