Big update for York County: Sponsor York 911 v2.1 is live.

A while back, this page mainly auto-posted incidents as they appeared. I paused that because I wanted to build something more useful than an endless stream of updates—something that helps people search, understand, and responsibly explore the public information available for York County.

After a long rebuild, that new experience is here:

🔎 A faster Incident Explorer
Search and filter captured records by time, municipality, category, status, road, intersection, call type, or box number. Longer result sets are paged so mobile users are not stuck scrolling through one huge list.

📱 A true mobile-first experience
The entire site is designed to be clear and easy to use on a phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop.

🏷️ Clearer incident descriptions
When the public source provides a more specific description, the site keeps it—such as a motorcycle crash, structure fire, or an available injury classification. When the source only provides a broad category, the site says that instead of guessing.

🗺️ A more honest map
Broad records are grouped using approximate municipality-area context. Those markers are not emergency scenes, and the site does not pretend that approximate information is an exact location. Records without reliable placement remain available in the complete incident list.

📊 Interactive York County insights
Explore recent activity by source category, detailed incident group, municipality, day, and hour. These are captured public records—not crime rates, danger rankings, response times, or official incident totals.

📚 A searchable archive and clearer details
Open individual records, review the classifications the site can responsibly show, and browse thousands of captured entries in a much cleaner format.

🛟 Safety resources and transparent methodology
The website now explains where the information comes from, what the map can and cannot show, how classifications work, and where to find official preparedness, weather, travel, and emergency-management resources.

Here is one time-specific example of what the site displayed on July 24, 2026 at 8:15 PM ET:

• 3 records listed in the current public snapshot
• 58 records listed for the day
• 440 records in the previous seven days
• 5,373 records in the captured archive

At that same capture time, the 30-day view covered 2,229 captured records. Traffic accounted for 1,380, York City had 280, and 7 PM was the busiest displayed hour with 178 records.

Those numbers change as the public display updates. They are captured records from the available public source—not official totals and not a measurement of how safe or unsafe a community is.

Take a look, try the filters, explore the map and insights, and tell me what you find useful:

Today we pause to honor the brave men and women who gave everything in service to our country.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend. It is a reminder that the freedoms we live with were paid for by people who never made it home.

From all of us at Sponsor York 911 Incident Repeater, we remember, respect, and honor their sacrifice. 🇺🇸

🚨 Quick update from York County Incident Repeater

First off, thank you. The relaunch post has already reached 22,000+ views, brought in 1,500+ link clicks, and hundreds of new followers in just a few days.

That tells us one thing pretty clearly:

York County still wants a cleaner, easier way to check what’s going on.

A lot of people have asked:

“Why don’t you post police calls or medical calls?”

Here’s the honest answer:

We are not here to expose private emergencies, create rumors, or turn someone’s worst day into Facebook entertainment.

This project is built around public awareness, not scene-chasing.

Police incidents and medical calls can involve sensitive situations, private homes, minors, victims, mental health, active investigations, or details that should not be blasted around social media. Even when something appears in a public feed, that does not always mean it should be reposted loudly without context.

So our focus is staying on the kind of public info that helps the community safely navigate the day:

✅ Traffic incidents
✅ Fire calls
✅ Road closures
✅ Hazards
✅ Weather-related road issues
✅ General public WebCAD awareness
✅ Clean map context
✅ Safer sharing with timestamps and source notes

The goal is simple:

Help people answer “what’s going on?” without adding panic, gossip, or bad information.

Next updates we’re working toward:

📍 Better mobile map experience
🚗 Faster road and commute checks
⭐ Custom watchlist improvements
🧭 Cleaner incident cards
🏪 Local sponsor spots to help keep the board running
📲 Better Facebook sharing and future auto-posted updates

This page is independently run and community-supported. It is not affiliated with York County 911, York County DES, police, fire, EMS, or any government agency.

For emergencies, always call 911.

Use the board as a heads-up, not a hotline.
