🧛From Dusk Till Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money (1999)
From Dusk Till Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money, directed by Scott Spiegel, is the lesser-known sequel to the cult classic From Dusk Till Dawn (1996). While it doesn't match the wild originality of the first film, it offers a fun, bloody ride for those who enjoy campy horror-action.
This time, the story follows a group of criminals, led by Buck (Robert Patrick), planning a bank heist in Texas. However, things go off the rails when one of them is turned into a vampire, and the heist turns into a blood-soaked nightmare. The premise sounds promising, but the ex*****on often leans into B-movie territory—with mixed results.
The film retains the gritty, chaotic tone of the original, but it lacks the stylish direction and sharp dialogue that made the first so memorable. That said, Texas Blood Money embraces its low-budget charm with over-the-top vampire effects, quirky characters, and plenty of dark humor. Robert Patrick stands out with a solid, charismatic performance, giving the movie some much-needed weight.
While the story feels thinner and the characters less iconic, fans of the first film might still appreciate the wild vampire mayhem and the occasional nods to the original. It’s best approached with modest expectations: it’s cheesy, it’s bloody, and it doesn’t take itself too seriously.
Final Verdict: A messy but entertaining vampire heist movie that's worth a watch for hardcore fans of the franchise or B-horror lovers.
