Mountain Gazette

Mountain Gazette When in Doubt, Go Higher This magazine was published under the name Skiers’ Gazette from 1966 until 1972. It was published as Mountain Gazette from 1972-1979.

After a 20-plus- year hiatus, it was reborn in 2000 as a monthly magazine, with national distribution at gear shops, java huts, bookstores, brewpubs, bars, lodging facilities and by paid subscription of $25 for 12 issues. In 2020, Mountain Gazette returns as a bi-annual, coffee table book magazine.

We are for readers, it’s true! It is also true that we do not publish any part of the magazine online. So, if you want to haul around a poster sized magazine to the kids soccer game, go for it! If you don’t, we do post insightful and relevant stories in Mountain Notes on our website.

Each week, our teams sends a Sunday email. 📧 it’s a brief update on where we are at, as well as what is happening in the outdoor world. Sometimes you will find a curated list of articles, events, films or art. You will always find a Sunday Story. Each Sunday Story is posted on our site to Mountain Notes.

You can sign up for the Sunday newsletter at the link in our bio or visit Mountain Notes on our site > under the about tab.
