Singer/Songwriter Valerie Bailey has worked with Babyface, Gladys Knight, BeBe and CeCe Winans, Toni Braxton, Steve Tyrell, Milli Vanilli, Jeffrey Osborne, Luther Vandross and on the European leg of Whitney Houston’s Bodyguard tour. She became a member of the legendary vocal group The Fifth Dimension, taking the spot of the famed Marilyn McCoo.

Valerie is married to legendary Earth, Wind & Fire singer/songwriter Philip Bailey and is celebrating the release of her long-awaited debut album, tentatively (and ironically) titled Greatest Hits, featuring eight originals co-written with the recording’s producer, industry veteran Barry Coffing, and fully-lit, funky and hard rockin’ re-imaginings of Jimi Hendrix’s “Fire” and The Who’s “Won’t Get Fooled Again.”

Working with a studio crew that included legendary session and touring musicians Lee Sklar (bass) and Michael Landau (guitar), she offers an infectious blend of raw emotion and inviting sensuality she calls soul/rock.

In our interview, Valerie discusses the intracies of navigating the music industry, her experiences of intentionally living out one’s dreams by God’s Grace and the formation of her “I Found Me” organization.

I wrote The Path of The EntreMusician because so many musicians kept asking the same thing—how do you build a real career without losing yourself?

The answer kept coming back to Mindset, Discipline & Focus (MDF). So I put those lessons into a book. And now, I’m humbled by the emails from artists who say it helped them reset, refocus, and rethink their path.

Our EntreMusician Community thrives on it and we are building strong into 2026

It’s not hype. It’s honest. It’s the journey I’ve lived.

If you’re ready for clarity and direction, this might just be the spark you need.

Guest: Karl “KC” Cousin | Back In The Day
I’m paying homage to the Youngstown Ohio musicians who set the standards I came up under back in the day. No one shaped my grind more than Karl Cousin. As a teenager, I watched him work—and it hit me. He didn’t preach or lecture. He just let a 14-year-old kid into his space.

That alone changed my direction.

Respect to the ones who influenced us—whether they knew it or not.
Karl has a new single out, vibe on it here: https://youtu.be/cTutpr6YUEo
