The recent case of stalking involving UConn’s Paige Bueckers highlights the urgent need for universities to better educate and support student-athletes in the NIL era. With increased visibility and public exposure, athletes face not only opportunities but significant risks, including harassment.

Universities must prioritize NIL education that goes beyond contracts and endorsements, focusing on personal safety, online security, and mental health. Dedicated NIL coordinators who genuinely care about athletes can help them navigate this new climate while providing essential protections.

This incident underscores the importance of creating a culture that values both the success and safety of student-athletes, ensuring they can thrive without fear of harm.

A man arrested for stalking UConn star Paige Bueckers pleaded guilty to a second-degree charge and is barred from being around the UConn team and all WNBA facilities.

YOUNGSTOWN, WAKE UP

We just lost to a TERRIBLE team. But guess what? The season isn’t over! Our chances are slim, but this is OUR TEAM, OUR CITY, and we’re not going down without a fight! Youngstown State football is the heartbeat of this town, with a tradition like NO OTHER. Jim Tressel built this, and it’s time to show him we still have that fire!

College football is a mess with NIL, transfers, and TV contracts: but none of that matters if WE don’t show up! You sit down for the Browns and Steelers on Sunday, you go wild for high school ball on Friday nights. So why not get off your couch, storm those stands, and back our Penguins on SATURDAY? This is YOUR team! This is YOUR city!

Get to that stadium. Bring the noise. Support these young men. Be part of the comeback story!

You in or out? GO PENGUINS!! 🏆🐧

In the unforgiving heart of Youngstown, three legends reunited at the Ice Castle, where every scarred end zone and worn bench whispered stories of their relentless pursuit. A two-time Super Bowl champion who clawed his way to the top, a world-renowned academic advisor who reshaped the landscape of knowledge, and a former walk-on from Ursuline Academy who embodied the grit of Ohio winters. They reminisced about those brutal 5 a.m. Wednesday practices, the ones that forged them in steel before the sun had the courage to rise.

“We thought the day never ended back then—buildings collapsing around us, but we kept swinging,” one of them reflected, voice thick with the weight of past battles. The others nodded, their silence filled with the echoes of a time when giving up wasn’t even an option.

These two shaped me more than any classroom ever could. They taught me that growth comes from pushing past every limit, that true kindness is shown to those who walk on and earn their way, because that’s where character is built.

Standing together, I felt an overwhelming gratitude for these penguins beside me. I might still be just a kid from Youngstown, but because of them, I’m forged in fire. Their lessons, their grit—that was my real education. And for that, I am forever grateful.
