If you want optimism, good vs evil where good has a chance of winning, and a touch of clean romance, buy Daughter of the Mystic Moon and preorder Keeper of the Mystic Moon. I’m old school in the best way.

Have our favorite fantasy worlds lost their moral compass? Today's entertainment industry pumps out gratuitous s*x and violence, passing it off as mature storytelling. Best-selling titles and hit shows like "Game of Thrones" have completely abandoned the inspiring, hopeful ethos that defined the beloved works of Tolkien and Lewis.

The magic of fantasy shouldn't rely on s**t or hopelessness. Audiences are starving for genuinely excellent storytelling where heroes actually expose darkness instead of reveling in it. It’s time for creators to build worlds that inspire our sense of wonder again. Dive into the compelling argument right here.

This is important.
If you don’t process your negative feelings, they become trapped, which is what the Emotion Code is for. As a certified practitioner, who also practices in myself, I can tell you that identifying and releasing those trapped negative emotions helps you recognize and process them as they come. So you stop trapping them and causing yourself discomfort and distress.
Get in touch at greatisthespirit.com if you’d like to learn more.

THIS IS HOW TO PROCESS YOUR FEELINGS...

Buddhism does not teach us to suppress difficult emotions or pretend that we are always peaceful. It teaches us to understand our emotions deeply, observe them without becoming enslaved by them, and allow them to pass without creating more suffering.

1. PAUSE
Before reacting, stop. Take a breath and acknowledge what is happening within you. Anger, sadness, fear, jealousy or disappointment are experiences, not your identity. A pause creates space between what you feel and what you do.

2. NAME IT
Instead of saying, “I am angry,” try, “Anger is present in me.” This small shift creates awareness. In Buddhist practice, mindful observation helps us see emotions as temporary states that arise and eventually pass away.

3. FEEL IT
Do not immediately distract yourself, suppress the emotion or run from it. Sit with it. Notice where it appears in your body and what thoughts accompany it. You can acknowledge pain without allowing pain to control your actions. What we resist often becomes stronger; what we observe with awareness can begin to soften.

4. ASK WHY
Look beneath the emotion. What triggered it? What expectation was hurt? What attachment, fear or desire is creating this suffering? Buddhism teaches that much of our suffering comes from clinging to how we think people, situations and life should be.

5. RELEASE
Once you understand the feeling, give it somewhere to go. Breathe deeply. Write it down. Meditate. Walk. Speak honestly with someone you trust. And when necessary, forgive. Releasing does not mean saying that what happened was acceptable. It means refusing to carry the poison of resentment everywhere you go.

6. SHIFT
Your feelings deserve to be acknowledged, but they do not deserve to control your entire day. Once you have felt and understood them, redirect your energy toward something constructive. Choose patience over reaction, compassion over revenge, and wisdom over impulse.

You do not need to eliminate every difficult emotion to become peaceful.

You simply need to stop becoming every emotion that visits you.

That is where mindfulness becomes freedom.

, you know I rarely use that tag to get attention, so this is important. If you're local, please check out my Haunted Carolina events in October! If you can come, choose one, mark yourself as going, and invite your friends!

Here's the description for this year's presentation:

Haunted Carolina - The Spookiest Places in North Carolina

Join paranormal investigator, podcaster, and author Nicolle Morock as she explores some of North Carolina’s lesser‑known haunted locations. Drawing on extensive research, firsthand experiences, and stories from both public sites and private homes, she'll adventure beyond the usual “top haunted” lists to highlight memorable places & encounters that leave a lasting impression on investigators and witnesses alike. Audience members can also share their own picks for the state’s spookiest places.
