Not sure that words can do any justice to how great the Party At The Pen motorcycle show was. It was the first year at he Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield, Ohio and damn was some talent and soul alive and present. What an eerie spot to learn the history of and even better to have an interesting experience in one of the cells. Go out and make life happen. Work on your bike and ride it until your ass cheeks are screaming, then wake up and do it again. Always grateful to have solid folks on the road and big thanks to and for makin’ this weekend so damn good!!!!

Day 1…. From the long miles of North Carolina back roads up through Virginia into West Virginia to dead stop traffic and having a new level of Twin Cam Heat, To then be soaked to the bone in down pours we call chubby rain. It is rain so thick and heavy that you just have to laugh, man up and push through, hang with friends and do road side s**t talkin’ nothing beats travelin’ with your biker brethren and then a damn good hang with my OH IO compadre du jour brother Brad!

Rebuildin’ a Sporty seat for my buddy Mark up north in Pennsylvania. Took some time, but got it all dialed in. Wanted to create a new stitch pattern that could work on a wider array of seat patterns that expands out from center. A bit of math and protractor work and now can make it replicable with the new flat top stitchin’ machine. Hardest part of makin’ seats is creatin’ new patterns for thicker leather and not the junk ass thin stuff most upholstery places sell ya. Build it right and build it to last. Made In America! 🇺🇸

Always amazed and grateful for how many orders come in for custom belt buckles. Some days I don’t feel as if I will ever be able to keep up and my gloves are as silver as the aluminum plate after polishings. Each buckle is built with a heat set transfer for a plethora of detail and then acid etched to cut in the unique surface. All of the buckles are handmade one at a time and then ground and polished into the finished pieces. Big thank you for all the customers world wide. We shipped over 2k buckles in the last year and going out to 22 countries. We also build all the hardware which is stainless steel plate and sell those in two sizes for other makers to be able to build their own custom buckles. All handmade in the good Ol’ USA, day in, day out. 🇺🇸

On the second strap worked for him, he wanted to pull from the original Guns N Roses artwork from 1985, but make the design a lot more muted and not as bold as the original graphics. Got them all hammered into the leather to match the same sizing as the Metallica strap and then slowly built the colors up on the tooled design and then airbrushed a bit darker on the edges to soften everything up in deeper browns. This strap is going on his signature Slash sunburst Les Paul that came out in 2010 as a limited edition. Another cool strap for his collection. 🇺🇸

Have been lucky over the years to develop a plethora of repeat customers for high end leather work. Just knocked out two more custom guitar straps for a great customer down in Texas. On this Metallica themed strap, he wanted to use Pushead artwork that is retweaked a bit to fit the 2.5” inch width of the strap to go on his Kirk Hammett signature guitar and around the song Shortest Straw. This one has a lot of hours into it and really enjoy how it all came together.

Been slackin’ on posts and playin’ catch up with life. Finished this custom seat up in January to have ready at our booth for the Full Throttle Show. Had it on the table for maybe five minutes and was sold to go on one of the bikes in the show. Gonna start doing more diverse custom work and hopefully actually be able to work on my own projects, which have been on the back burner for too long. Good problems to have and big thanks to all the customers as I continually play catch up. 🇺🇸

Has been a wild time in life. Wanting to post more but sorta and or kinda hidin’ from reality to deal with all the heaviness of my wifes cancer ordeal. But this week has been good, she feels good, still in the fight and big thanks for the orders. Just a note, taking a bit of a break from more of the higher end custom orders. Has been a plethora of personal and or family things to put first and havent wanted to delve deep in too much custom work. Big thanks to friends, customers, family, etc. it has truly been a rough year.

Would like to have more able bodied men join us and help out with labor, clearing trees and debris. Currently at 3 - 4 of us and lookin’ to head out the NC mountains this Friday from different parts of the state. Happy to coordinate vehicles as we will be working as a team.

Reaching out to a volunteer group and we will potentially be assigned to an area for 2-3 days of work. Small towns or rural areas is where we want to help the most. We also want to shuttle in any supplies we can for those in need and speaking with folks in the area on where and what would be best.

Will be supplying our own safety gear, medical supplies and tools if anyone would like to join with us. Be aware that you need to be fully self sufficient and armed. This won’t be for the faint of heart from some messages we have received and you need be ready physically and mentally.
