Today we drove to Sedona to see the views. It’s packed! We ended up finding a museum that was quiet and had some great views. We may go back before we leave the area as it should be less people.. We took a scenic drive through Red Rock drive, it was pretty.

Forgot to post the update yesterday as we left Gold Canyon, and got into Cottonwood, AZ yesterday. It was pretty darn hot. Luckily only had to deal with stupid people on the road, and many round-abouts. Seems popular here in AZ. I initially pulled into our site backwards (it’s a pull through and I went the wrong direction, so had to go through and drive around the campground to get into position. Site was far from level (had to add lego’s to one side, and when I pulled Kermit out, felt like I was going to flip backwards.. the ramp was pretty steep, so we’ll have to backup the camper to put Kermit back in when we leave in three weeks. Luckily we fit in the site, and our cars have a parking area on the other side. All pull through sites here, are “buddy sites”, but they closed the one right next to us, and made two parking spots, so we were able to fit in, otherwise, the vehicles and camper wouldn’t really fit. Campground is nice, and we’ll probably do a drive through with Kermit and a video sometime while we’re here. Great views.

So, we left Voyager RV in Tucson today and drove a little bit to Gold Canyon, AZ for the night. Nice 55+ RV Resort. Luck...

So, we left Voyager RV in Tucson today and drove a little bit to Gold Canyon, AZ for the night. Nice 55+ RV Resort. Luckily the drive was pretty uneventful, but with the heat, was a bit exhausting. Since we’re only here for the night, decided it’s so hot, we’ll only hook up power, and wait until Verde Valley before we do a full hookup (that’s tomorrow’s drive). We found a nice place for dinner and ended up with prime rib dinner specials.. not bad on the food.

Went into Tombstone today. Lots of walking, but some neat shops. We ended up at the Birdcage theater and walked through their self guided tour. Was pretty interesting. It’s still the original building, only they added a partition in the front. Pretty interesting to hear the history.

Thought we’d try their regular menu.. neat diner with a few cars to check out.

Today was a fun, exhausting day again. Went to the Titan Missile Museum, which was pretty neat. Good history and had a great guide that took us down to the control room to show us how it was back in the cold war. Lots of good history and it’s amazing what they were able to accomplish back then (the shock absorbing building to help if under attack/launching the Titan II missile. We visited last year, but didn’t have time to take a tour, as you need to make a reservation. I almost think going back to work tomorrow, will be a bit easier.. :)

Yesterday was travel day (we were kinda wiped out, so didn’t post). Was a fairly uneventful drive. The resort is pretty nice (Thousand Trails Encore park), has 3 pools, 2 hot tubs, plus a bunch of activities. It’s a 55+ resort. We fit in pretty easy here with our setup. Gated/Guarded entrance. After we got setup and rested for a few, we ended up going to dinner with Jerusha’s Mom and Aunt.
