Just giving my knockoff Greek bust a lil dermaplane refresh🗿🫧
It’s not just me playing with sharp objects 🗡️ sooo let talk about it:
Dermaplaning is a form of physical exfoliation that removes dead skin + peach fuzz, leaving your skin super smooth and glowy. It’s great before makeup or big events, but also just feels really nice if you’re not a fan of the fuzz.
That said, it’s NOT for everyone! If you’ve got active acne, super sensitive skin, or certain skin conditions, it might not be the best fit. And no, the hair doesn’t grow back darker or thicker (that’s a myth).
Some estheticians love offering it (hi:), and some don’t 🤷🏻♀️ It’s all about personal preference, both for the provider and the client. It’s not something you need in a service and, there aren’t really any longterm benefits; but if you like the feel of a fresh, glassy glow, it might be your fav facial.
Not every provider is trained in dermaplaning, and that’s important — because yes, blades are involved. We use professional, surgical steel blades. You always want to make sure your esthie is licensed (in general + trained for this exact service), uses proper sanitation, and knows what they’re doing. No one wants to get carved up like a holiday turkey for the sake of glow. 🦃✨
As always: skincare isn’t one-size-fits-all.
(kidding… kinda)
