FBI agents say they've arrested a man who allegedly provided Palm Springs bomber Guy Bartkus with materials and helped him experiment with explosives in his Twentynine Palms garage.

NEW YORK — A man Justice Department officials believe provided ammonium nitrate, an explosive precursor used in the bombing of a Palm Springs fertility clinic, has been arrested.

Neighborhoods from Twentynine Palms Highway to the south, Amboy to the north, Bullion Avenue to the west and Utah Trail to the east were still closed to through traffic at 1:30 p.m. Sunday for the investigation into Guy Edward Bartkus, suspected of setting off a car bomb in Palm Springs yesterday.

Guy Edward Bartkus from Twentynine Palms is the suspect and is believed to have been killed in the explosion outside American Reproductive Center, says FBI head of the Los Angeles office Akil Davis. He said the FBI does not believe there is any ongoing threat to Twentynine Palms or Palm Springs.
