Melody Pro Private music teacher & music journalist. This page is full of good music and fun facts for everyone! I was born and raised in a small town in Oklahoma.

I began singing in community and church musical theatre as a small child. In 1995 I began playing in the percussion section of my school orchestra and began classical piano lessons. Continuing lessons for vocal music, piano, drums, and musical theory, I began competing. In junior high school I became an award winning vocalist, pianist, and drummer/percussionist. I auditioned for and was selected f

or the honor band and the show choir. I also began performing in public at recitals, talent shows, competitions, etc. Once I reached high school, my musical interest was instrumental, to be sure but, my main focus became geared towards musical theatre. I began competing in theatre competitions and continued playing and singing. I auditioned for and was selected for the high school show choir. After graduating high school, I attended Rose State College where I began taking courses on piano and piano instruction. My career took me in a different direction as I entered sixteen years as a Deputy Sheriff. I retired after only sixteen years to care for an aging parent. Now I perform live but mostly focus on sharing all I have learned throughout the years with others as a private music teacher.

Throwback Thursday With Halestorm
Halestorm's live recording of "Dirty Work" was actually filmed at the Theatre of Living Arts (TLA) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on April 30, 2010.
The energetic performance was professionally captured and released later that year on November 16, 2010, as part of their first official live CD/DVD package, titled Live in Philly 2010. The song originally appeared as a studio track on their 2009 self-titled debut album.

Throwback Thursday With The Warning
The story behind "The End (Stars Always Seem to Fade)" by the Mexican rock band The Warning spans both a dark narrative within a concept album and a unique creative choices in its stripped-down Acoustic Performance on YouTube.
In late 2019, the Villarreal sisters (Daniela, Paulina, and Alejandra) recorded a series of live, stripped-down acoustic sessions at the Auténtico Hotel in Monterrey, Mexico, initially released for their Patreon community.
While Daniela is the primary lead vocalist for the band, drummer Paulina Villarreal takes center stage as the main vocalist for this track.
Stripping away the heavy distorted guitars and thunderous drum kits of their usual hard rock style, the acoustic arrangement relies on piano, rhythmic acoustic guitar, and raw, haunting three-part sisterly harmonies. This vulnerability highlights the grim, isolated nature of the character's final moments.

1988 - Guns N' Roses
Guns N' Roses started a two week run at No.1 on the US singles chart with 'Sweet Child O' Mine', the group's first US No.1. The song came together in a surprising way, according to 2005 article in Q Magazine. During a jam session, drummer Steven Adler and Slash were noodling around when the guitarist began to play a circus-style melody, trying to get Adler to crack a smile. Rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin, however, saw the potential in the guitar line. Stradlin came up with some chords, Duff McKagan added a bassline, and Adler began playing a beat.

This Day In Music History - 1964 - Kinks
The Kinks third single, "You Really Got Me", was at No.1 on the UK singles chart. "Tell Me When You've Had Enough" by Evanescence
"Tell Me When You've Had Enough" by Evanescence is an anthem about breaking free from control, manipulation, and the exhausting effort of keeping the peace at your own expense.
The song speaks to anyone tired of being pushed around or manipulated by others.
It questions how much a person is willing to sacrifice just to take the easy path and avoid conflict, noting that keeping the peace isn't real peace if you are always the one suffering.
The track marks a moment of realization and defiance—knowing when enough is enough and finally pushing back against those who take advantage of your silence.

"Ants" by K. Flay
K.Flay’s single "Ants" explores the destructive nature of power, systemic corporate greed, and personal complicity in modern devastation.
K.Flay has stated that the track expresses her frustration with the state of the world, specifically targeting what billionaires, governments, and large corporations are doing.
The lyrics take direct aim at extreme wealth, tax evasion strategies, and the numbing effect of modern media and sensationalism ("pill pop energy", "filmed that s**t and now I'm on a show").

K.Flay returns with her new single Ants today, 4th September 2026, continuing a run of genre-defying work that has established the Grammy-nominated artist as one of alternative music’s most distinctive voices. The new track finds K.Flay — real name Kristine Flaherty — turning her attention tow...
