The Florida Legislature passed bill HB 433 and the Governor a law that prevents local governments from passing laws about job heat safety rules. The law bans local government from extending the protections beyond extant OSHA rules, breaks, water, etc.

I am challenging community organizations, businesses, places of faith, elected officials, government agencies, and individuals to help outdoor workers who cannot afford cooling garments or materials.

If you live in another community, the Farmworker Association of Florida has workers throughout Florida that are members and there are workers in all states.

If you work with a homeless organization, they could also use cooling or warming clothing during the appropriate season, also.
