Today I’m sharing one of the last postcards before my trip: this Map of the World from Romania, by Postcardsmarket.

Look at those stamps! Sent by Radu from Bucharest, huge thanks for such a beautiful card.

The Cristopher Columbus stamps fascinated me—first time seeing them! I don’t understand Romanian, but I bet they connect to exploration history.

We keep adding to our postal stories!

Hola a todos! (English below)👇

En un giro inesperado de los acontecimientos (sí, cuando creés que nada más te puede pasar, ¡me pasó!), nos quedamos dos semanas más. Y justo esta semana es de fiesta, porque celebramos el aniversario de Paysandú como ciudad. Ahora quiero saber: ¿quieren historias de la ciudad o nos quedamos con postales? ¡Es vital saberlo!

Ahora vamos con la postal de hoy: este bello suricato me lo envía Nele desde Alemania. Me cuenta que tiene un pony llamado Wanda y que en su último paseo vio un atardecer espectacular. ¡Gracias, Nele, por la linda postal y por compartir un pedacito de tu mundo!

Hello everyone!

Hey everyone! In an unexpected twist of events (just when you think nothing else can happen—boom, it does!), I’m staying two more weeks. And wouldn’t you know it, this week is a celebration because it’s the city’s anniversary. Now I want to know: would you like stories about the city, or shall we stick to postcards? It’s vital that you let me know!

Now, onto today’s postcard: this adorable meerkat was sent by Nele from Germany. She told me she has a pony named Wanda, and on their last ride, they saw a gorgeous sunset. Thank you, Nele, for the lovely postcard and for sharing a piece of your world!

Happy Thursday everyone 💖

Today’s postcard felt VERY interesting to me because it comes from the Azores 🇵🇹

And honestly… I think this is one of those places we hear very little about, even though it has such a unique identity.

This postcard belongs to the FOTW (Flags of the World) series by Postcardsmarket and shows the flag of the Azores along with several facts about the archipelago: volcanoes, whale watching, Mount Pico, and some of the islands that are part of it.

The sender also told me that he visited the Azores last year and mentioned several islands he explored. I really love when people turn a postcard into a sort of tiny travel diary.

And yes… once again I have to talk about the stamps because they are beautiful.
The camellia one, the bicycles, and even the “bolo de ança” stamp make the whole postcard feel even more special.

Feliz jueves a todos 💖

La postal de hoy me pareció MUY interesante porque viene desde las Islas Azores 🇵🇹

Y honestamente… creo que es uno de esos lugares de los que escuchamos muy poco, pero que tienen una identidad súper única.

Esta postal pertenece a la serie FOTW (Flags of the World) de Postcardsmarket y muestra la bandera de las Azores junto a varios datos sobre el archipiélago: volcanes, observación de ballenas, el Monte Pico y algunas de las islas que lo forman.

Además, el remitente me escribió contándome que estuvo allí el año pasado y nombró varias islas que visitó. Me encanta cuando las personas transforman una postal en una especie de mini diario de viaje.

Y sí… otra vez tengo que hablar de las estampillas porque son hermosas.
La de las camelias, las bicicletas y hasta la del “bolo de ança” hacen que toda la postal se sienta todavía más especial.

Feliz miércoles a todos 💖

Hoy quería mostrarles otra postal que llegó desde Alemania 🇩🇪
Esta vez, una postal del famoso “Christkindlesmarkt” de Núremberg, uno de los mercados navideños más conocidos del mundo.

La remitente me contó que vive en Erlangen, cerca de Núremberg, y que todavía no había podido visitar el mercado ese año… pero que igual quiso compartir conmigo un pedacito de esa tradición ✨

También me hizo gracia que mencionara Pokémon en la postal, porque tiene una pequeña colección de cartas y su favorito es Arcanine (el mío sigue siendo Pikachu 😅). Honestamente, no esperaba encontrar una conversación sobre Pokémon en medio de una postal navideña.

Y algo que me gustó muchísimo fueron las estampillas. Especialmente la de “Frohe Weihnachten” y la ilustración religiosa dorada. Siento que le dieron un aire todavía más especial al correo.

Por cierto… sigo sobreviviendo con muy pocas postales para publicar mientras estoy lejos de casa, así que gracias por seguir acompañándome en estas pequeñas historias 📮

Happy Wednesday everyone 💖

Today I wanted to show you another postcard that arrived from Germany 🇩🇪
This time, it’s a postcard from the famous “Christkindlesmarkt” in Nuremberg, one of the most well-known Christmas markets in the world.

The sender told me she lives in Erlangen, near Nuremberg, and that she hadn’t been able to visit the market yet that year… but still wanted to share a little piece of that tradition with me ✨

I also found it funny that she mentioned Pokémon in the postcard, because she has a small card collection and her favorite is Arcanine (mine is still Pikachu 😅). Honestly, I wasn’t expecting to find a Pokémon conversation in the middle of a Christmas postcard.

And something I absolutely loved were the stamps. Especially the “Frohe Weihnachten” one and the golden religious illustration. I feel like they made the mail look even more special.

By the way… I’m still surviving with very few postcards to post while I’m away from home, so thank you for continuing to follow along with these little stories 📮

Good morning everyone 💖

I’m still sharing some postcards I received before the trip… because honestly, I miss my home, my things, and simply sitting down peacefully to open mail 📮

And yes… right now I have VERY few things to post, so these postcards are becoming a little bit of company for me in the meantime.

This postcard arrived from Germany and it was one of the first handmade postcards my PO box received this year.
It was made by Alina, who also told me that it had been snowing a lot where she lives and that her dog absolutely loves running in the snow.

I also really liked the stamps she chose for the postcard, especially the peacock one and the Henriette Goldschmidt stamp, who I honestly didn’t know before this.

And one little detail that made me smile: she told me she had never heard the name “Fiorella” before 💌

Sigo compartiendo algunas de las postales que recibí antes del viaje… porque la verdad es que estoy extrañando muchísimo mi casa, mis cosas y también sentarme tranquila a abrir correo 📮

Y sí… actualmente tengo MUY poquitas cosas para publicar, así que estas postales se están convirtiendo un poco en mi compañía mientras tanto.

Esta postal llegó desde Alemania y fue una de las primeras handmade postcards que recibió mi casilla este año.
La hizo Alina, que además me contó que estaba nevando muchísimo donde vive y que su perrita ama correr en la nieve.

También me gustaron muchísimo los sellos que eligió para enviarla. Especialmente el del pavo real y el de Henriette Goldschmidt, que honestamente no conocía hasta ahora.

Y un pequeño detalle que me hizo sonreír: me dijo que nunca había escuchado el nombre “Fiorella” antes 💌

Good morning everyone 💖

Today I wanted to share a very curious postcard that arrived from Germany 🇩🇪✨
It’s an official Postcrossing postcard and it includes something I absolutely loved: a traditional recipe!

The postcard shows a Kugelhopf (or Gugelhopf), a traditional cake from the Alsace region, made with raisins and powdered sugar 🍰
The full recipe is even printed on the back, so technically I could try baking it now… although I can’t promise good results 😅

Something else that really caught my attention was the type of postage used to send it.
They look like printed labels with small animals and QR codes, very different from the traditional stamps we usually see here 🦁🐴📮

If anyone knows this German postal system or can explain how these stamps work, I’d love to read your comments! ✨

And one very sweet detail: the sender wrote that she was wondering how far this postcard would travel to reach Uruguay 💌🌎
Spoiler: it arrived safely in Montevideo.

Hoy quería mostrarles una postal muy curiosa que llegó desde Alemania 🇩🇪✨
Es una postal oficial de Postcrossing y además trae algo que me encantó muchísimo: ¡una receta tradicional!

La postal muestra el Kugelhopf (o Gugelhopf), un pastel típico de la región de Alsacia, preparado con pasas de uva y espolvoreado con azúcar glas 🍰
Incluso en el reverso viene escrita la receta completa, así que ahora técnicamente podría intentar cocinarlo… aunque no prometo resultados 😅

También me llamó muchísimo la atención el tipo de sellos/postage que usaron para enviarla.
Parecen etiquetas impresas con pequeños animales y códigos QR, algo bastante diferente a las estampillas tradicionales que solemos ver por acá 🦁🐴📮

Si alguien conoce este sistema postal alemán o sabe cómo funcionan estos sellos, ¡me encantaría leerlos en comentarios! ✨

Y un detalle muy lindo: la remitente escribió que se preguntaba cuánto viajaría esta postal hasta llegar a Uruguay 💌🌎

Today I wanted to show you these beautiful postcards that arrived from Germany ✨🌙

But this time, there’s a very special story behind them.

They were sent to me by René, who was actually the very first person to buy postcards from Las Postales de Fio 🥹

And honestly… thinking about that makes me really emotional.

Because when all of this started, I never imagined how far this little project full of stories, letters, and wonderful people could go.

Sometimes we keep creating, working, and sharing without stopping to look back… until something like this arrives and reminds us of the entire journey 💌

And the postcards themselves are absolutely beautiful.
The nighttime atmosphere, the stars, the tiny glowing lights… they feel like something out of a dream ✨

Today, I wanted to show you these beautiful FOTW and MOTW postcards from Germany. Dilara sent them to me back when the German postal service was a bit complicated, so these postcards only arrived at the end of March.

These two postcards are full of little details about Germany, and something I absolutely loved: the stamps. One of Tom & Jerry and another of Bugs Bunny. Honestly, they made them even more special.

How are you spending your Tuesday?

My vacation is slowly coming to an end, so very soon I’ll be back with more updated postcards and much more frequent posts. I actually have so many things waiting to be shared that I could probably post several times a day for a while 😅📬

Meanwhile, here’s another postcard from the Postcrossing Valentine’s Meeting 💌🐰

This postcard arrived from France and was sent by Nathalie during the online meetup on February 15th, 2026. She lives in the central region of France, in a place called “Sologne”, and wished us a happy Postcrossing.

And honestly… this bunny is adorable. The red mailbox full of flowers, the hearts, the soft colors… it feels like a little storybook scene.

The postcard also came with a beautiful French stamp featuring a folding umbrella (“Le parapluie pliant”), which I found really original ☔🇫🇷

¿Cómo están pasando este martes?

Mis vacaciones ya se están terminando, así que dentro de muy poco voy a volver con postales más actualizadas y publicaciones mucho más seguidas. De hecho, tengo tantas cosas esperando para mostrarles que probablemente pueda publicar varias veces al día durante un tiempo 😅📬

Mientras tanto, seguimos con otra postal del Meeting de San Valentín de Postcrossing 💌🐰

Esta postal llegó desde Francia y fue enviada por Nathalie durante el meetup online del 15 de febrero de 2026. Ella vive en la región central de Francia, en un lugar llamado “Sologne”, y nos deseó un feliz Postcrossing.

Y sinceramente… este conejito es adorable. El buzón rojo lleno de flores, los corazones y los colores suaves hacen que parezca una escena salida de un cuento.

Además, la postal vino acompañada de una estampilla francesa preciosa dedicada a un paraguas plegable (“Le parapluie pliant”), algo que me pareció muy original ☔🇫🇷

Gracias por seguir acá conmigo incluso en estos días donde publico un poquito más lento. El ritmo postal intenso vuelve muy pronto ✨

Hoy Uruguay recuerda una batalla que ayudó a cambiar nuestra historia 🇺🇾
Porque antes de ser país, hubo personas que soñaron con la libertad.

Cada 18 de mayo se conmemora la Batalla de Las Piedras, librada en 1811 y liderada por José Gervasio Artigas, considerada una de las primeras grandes victorias del proceso independentista oriental
