What to do when you are COMPLETELY EMPTY OF WATER?

In Bequia it’s super easy to get your tanks filled up by one of several mobile entrepreneurs who collect rainwater and deliver it direct to your boat! The cost is $1.50EC / Gallon (about $0.75 CAD). They use their gasoline powered pumps to quickly top up your tanks and the service is only a radio call away.
We DO have a watermaker but we are learning that in the winter months it’s harder to get all the solar we need in order to run it. With endless afternoon rain squalls and the sun not as high in the sky in general, sometimes we gotta call for backup. Once we were filled, multiple loads of laundry were knocked out & Joco is fully decorated!! Also - we are surviving on only ONE of our brand new lithium batteries …. Can you say GONG SHOW?! It’s Fridge Defrost & Clean-Out Day!
Living on a small 35 foot sailboat DEFINITELY has its challenges and for me (Christin), one big challenge is the galley, or kitchen, space including our TIIIINY fridge. I love food and cooking, creating new meals with the fresh produce and provisions available in any given country. New flavors mixing with old favorite recipes, there’s never a dull taste bud on board! Do you think YOU could live aboard a small sailboat with limited storage space? I’d also love you to share your favorite recipes with us to try!
