Thaddeus Michael “Mike” Findlay, born on October 19, 1943, in Troumaca, Saint Vincent, is a pioneering figure in West Indies cricket. As the first cricketer from the Windward and Leeward Islands to represent the West Indies, he broke barriers and opened doors for countless others. Between 1969 and 1973, he played in ten Test matches as a wicketkeeper-batsman, earning a reputation as one of the finest glovemen the Caribbean has ever produced.
Beyond the pitch, Mike Findlay’s contributions to sports and national pride have been profound. He served as a West Indies team manager and later became a Sports Ambassador for Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, using his platform to uplift and honor fellow Vincentian athletes.
