"LUCY, DON'T!" Catherine yelled, seeing Lucy holding her beautiful trinket box. "Don't you dare touch it!"
"There's nothing like that, ma'am," Lucy explained. "The box was covered in dust, so I just decided to clean it."
Catherine snatched the box from her grasp. "That is none of your concern, young lady. Now leave!"
"But I was just..." Before Lucy could say anything, Catherine cut her off.
"Do I need to repeat myself? LEAVE!"
Lucy hurriedly packed all her belongings and left.
The next day, when Lucy visited Catherine, she decided to apologize to her. But Catherine didn't open the door. Lucy grew worried and called the cops.
When they arrived, they broke down the door, and there was Catherine, unconscious. She was taken to the hospital.
"Thank you so much, dear! I wouldn't be alive today if you hadn't arrived on time. Sorry for being rude yesterday."
"That's fine," Lucy replied.
"In case something happens to me, I want you to have everything I own, including the old vintage trinket box."
"No, I can't..."
"You can! However, please open it after my death. Consider it my final wish."
The next day, the old lady passed away.
Lucy organized her funeral, and after everyone had left, the first thing she remembered was the box Catherine had left her. She dashed over to the shelf, grabbed it, and finally opened it, gasping.
