Happy Christmas and Blessed New Year to our seminarians and to everyone at Josephinum.

Christmas has been celebrated as an octave since at least the 7th century, and is today one of two octaves celebrated by the Church, the other being Easter. During the Christmas octave, the “Gloria” is sung daily at Mass, and each day is generally regarded as a day of great celebration. Pictured are seminarians Gills Phillips (Diocese of St Thomas USVI), Ian Calkins (Ordinariate of the Chair of Saint Peter) and Jared Beltz (Diocese of Joliet) glorifying God in song. "Gloria in excelsis deo!"
