As always, I had a great time hosting In Bloom. another one in the books ✔️

I really enjoyed the art and stories shared last night. creating safe spaces where people can feel comfortable being who they are in a world that consistently tries to label and force us into certain categories means everything.

so grateful to Serenity's Nest for the invitation to host these events because it's truly been one of the best parts of my time in St. Croix. time is winding down and I genuinely cherish the times and people I've shared these spaces with 🤍

back to our Foreword 4 Forward discussion, we had another audience member respond to the question about customer service and how it can be improved on the island.

At our live podcast "With Love," In February, we talked about all the healthy ways to express love - romantically, platonically, familial, and self. This was probably my favorite live podcast so far because I love love 🤍

We asked an audience member their favorite way to spend quality time with their wife and his response was nothing specific, but everything 🥲

Have you ever felt like you were treated differently in a place you traveled to outside of your home because you weren't from there?

Check out this snippet from my Foreword 4 Forward live podcast at Serenity's Nest back in January. the theme was how the community can move forward, so I posed a question about customer service, "island time," and attitudes in service industries here on St. Croix, throughout the Caribbean, and the globe.

I definitely resonate deeply with the last part of what Tiniqua said as that's been a lot of my experience here. people choose to perceive me how they want before ever interacting with me personally, and that is truly one of society's biggest hinderances to positive change.

as always, I had a great time hosting at Serenity's Nest 🌸 creating safe spaces for people to share their ideas, perspectives, and experiences brings me joy.

reflecting on life, where I've been and where God plans on taking me as I just passed another birthday is what inspired the theme, so I'll share the poem I wrote for the event titled 'Becoming Spring'

I don't need to become spring because it's who God made me.
I was born on the equinox so I'm celestial.
balancing the day and night equally is the entirety of my being.
struggling to remove myself from the world and surrender it all to my creator,
but being human means the dark is in my nature.
and I know blessings beyond my biggest prayers are on the way,
but God's waiting on me to become.
to become a butterfly with her wings spread,
rooted in His light.
the one who's able to respond
to ignorance and hate with love and grace.
and while I've absorbed the darkness of this world
and mostly emitted back light,
every single day with my flesh is a fight.
I'm going through my metamorphosis,
I haven't quite reached.
I desperately want to be filled
with the fruits of the Spirit and not be depleted.
I won't be defeated,
that's the enemy.
I'm reclaiming my power and hope because I know choosing light in this dark world is the ultimate feat.
whatever part you've had in my journey whether a spectator, hater, stranger or friend,
just know this next chapter
is where blooming will begin.

Join us at Serenity’s Nest for Becoming Spring, a live podcast and community gathering exploring what we value most about St. Croix, how the island is perceived by non-Crucians and visitors, and what positive changes we hope to see for the future especially in an election year in the U.S. Virgin Islands, when community voices and vision matter more than ever. We’ll also reflect on how our personal growth connects to the island’s ecosystem and how each of us can contribute to strengthening Crucian culture.

Hosting at Serenity’s Nest is always a pleasure. 🤍
Love is an action, one we don’t often learn how to practice out loud. But when we truly consider and cherish one another as individuals on our own journeys, moving with love toward all people becomes easier and more intentional.

I hope everyone who attended enjoyed the conversations, the art, and the energy shared within such a sacred space. I love curating themed nights because the theme sets the mindset it guides specific conversations, and challenges creativity in powerful ways. When a performer tells me they took time to create something just for the night, my heart is full. The themes ARE the vibe 💖
