Hello! I just wanted to show off my recent IKEA purchase 😁 these SKRUVBY cabinets are awesome and so budget friendly!! I changed the door handles and had a piece of quartz put on top to make it look seamless and i looooove it.
Edit: I kept the original wood tops, because if I removed them, I would have to cut down the backing of the cabinets for the countertop to sit flush and I didn’t want to deal with that 😁 also i like that the little trim matches the picture frames.
What do you think?? Yeay or nay?

I really wanted a kitchen island but couldn’t justify paying the money to have one installed so i did one myself 🤣 this was made using a Knoxhult base unit from Ikea. For the worktop i used 2 thick bits of MDF which i got from B&Q, they cut them to size for me, i glued them on top of one another to get the thickness and then wrapped the whole thing in vinyl. Finally, i painted it and added the handles & barstools. I’m so pleased with it 🥰 kitchen island without the big price tag! 🙌🏼

Another ikea kallax project.
Thanks for all the positive response!
I will try respond to most of your questions here:
I’ve used four Kallax modules (bought second hand since I was gonna paint them anyway and of course mother earth in mind).
The color I’ve used is Jotun Soft Skin (both on the walls and the furniture). I painted all Kallax surfaces three times, once with a primer and two times with regular furniture paint. No pre-work on the surfaces except washing.
Lights are also from IKEA, led spots.
The shelf for the iPad is a shelf for spices, also from IKEA - ”BEKVÄM”
The electrical output is a branch outlet that’s connected to a regular wall socket but hidden behind the furniture.
Thx all for the inspiration to my hallway, hopefully i could inspired further. 🙂
