This week, the RA Under 12 Tornados faced Darlington United Vikings in an exciting match.

The game began with both teams pushing forward, but the opposition took the lead with a penalty six minutes into the first half. Undeterred, the RA continued to press, with Jenson scoring an equalizer eight minutes into the first half. Zac added another goal, followed by Jenson's second goal just before halftime.

The RA started the second half strong, with Jenson scoring again within five minutes. The team maintained possession of the ball, showcasing great football skills, with another goal from Jenson.
An altercation seen the opposition get a red card but they still went in to score again
in the 52nd minute, Jaxon then sealed the win for the RA with a goal in the 58th minute, securing a 6-2 victory.

Ra rockets 3-1tibs

A super match , we started slow and caught cold on their counter attack, we had a couple chances to clear but their striker sniffed out a shot low into Tom's goal 0-1 ⚽

This seemed to get us going and from that point we bossed the whole game , every player just did what we spoke about moving the ball and competing in every challenge 💪

The defence both Jacob , Ben and Nathan looked stronger as they met the first ball and this lead is to having more balls in the midfield , Cam and AJ never lost a battle and Maxi and Hayden wing play was starting to pin them back 👌
James sat Infront of the defence and his energy and willingness to win was there to see

We kept up the quick passing a header from Nathan and ball from AJ and a side pass from maxi to Olly slipped it into the corner 1-1 ⚽

We pushed again now and wining free kicks as they struggled to compete , Hayden sent a wicked ball high into their box for Maxi to head into the roof of the net 2-1 ⚽

Tibs had the odd breakaway but Tom and Ben kept them out , we kept our shape well and AJ won another challenge on the edge of the box and used the defender to bend it around into the bottom corner great finish 3-1 ⚽

Half time we spoke about not looking for next goal but making sure they didn't, we kept up the battling and Olly was brilliant all game against the big centre half our midfield ran their legs off and Harry came on for Maxi late on due to injury , and had a late chance 👌

They had a couple of late corners adding the pressure but the whole team defended well make sure they never got a clear chance 💪

Overall this was a true team effort every played played to a high standard and we got the result we deserved 💪

MOM. ..the whole squad 👌⚽💪

We have players to come back from injury and we just need to keep together over the next few weeks 👌

Up the rockets ✔️

Junior Round Up

Another good performance from the U7s this morning away against a well organised Linthorpe Academicals. Goalscorers included Arthur R, Rory & Junior.

And a good development game afterwards. Goalscorers included Milo, Grayson & Oscar

The RA Rockets took their winning streak to 5 games in a row today with a solid performance against Normanby Oranges. Players from both teams impeccably observed a minute silence before the game for Remembrance Sunday. The game ebbed and flowed with the RA Rockets taking the lead only to be pegged back on two occasions. They kept fighting and working hard until the end and were rewarded for their efforts with a fine headed goal from Jacob Prince. It was an excellent game of football with plenty of chances for both teams who were quite evenly matched. The win ensured the RA Rockets move above Normanby in the table into 2nd place.

Player of the Match – Jacob Prince – Jacob put in a shift today with his constant running. Both in getting forward and also closing the opponents down to keep the game tight. He scored two fantastic goals, the first with some excellent footwork and the second goal the winning header.

Opposition Player of the Match – Harry Harrison for another solid goalkeeping display. He made two key saves late on when the scores were level which gave the boys the platform to go on and win.

Goals – Jacob Prince x2, Jack
Assists – Harry, Max & Will

A late issue with our home pitch meant a switch of venue to the RA and a chance to play on the 1st team pitch for the first time.

We took the lead when the ball fell to Jenson from a corner and he put it in the top corner with a great finish. Another goal from a corner 10 mins later when Lucas headed in to make it 2-0.

A very dominant first half display saw us hit the woodwork twice and miss several good chances but we couldn’t add any more goals and we went into half time 2-0 up.

Both teams cancelled each other out in a scrappy 2nd half and there weren’t many clear chances for either team until Greatham pulled a goal back with a few mins left to play. They put the pressure on after this but our defence held strong to see the game out and we came away with a well deserved victory.

Really good game played in good spirits by both teams and respect shown by all with the 1 minute silence before the game.

Opposition MOM was Ben P for his non stop work rate and Coaches MOM was Ryan who was involved in everything in the middle of the pitch.

Another great game for the U7s this morning against Pools Youth yellows on a cold day at the RA.

Followed by a development game against each other to ensure everyone got plenty of game time.

Lots of goals scored with all players chipping in. MOM was the whole team as they all did fantastic

The Rockets travelled to hall drive to play Martin Royals in a fiercely contested game where the rockets battled hard playing some quality football and defended the long ball really well, dominating play throughout showing a real togetherness on the pitch. Well done to the whole team 🚀
