We just got back from a few weeks on the road, and we couldn’t wait to finally be at home….but I guess there’s two different approaches on how we ease back into home life 🫣

People thought we were nuts to pick working on a cruise shift instead of getting “real jobs” after graduation. 👇

But we both had the travel bug, and what better way to “get paid to travel” than to go work on a cruise ship in the Caribbean?

Day two on board, Juliana saw a name tag that said “Mexico” and thought, “ooh, I can practice my Spanish.”

Turns out Martín was from Cuernavaca, the exact city where Juliana had studied abroad years before. And somehow, we had mutual friends. On a cruise ship. In the middle of the ocean.

We spent those months working 12-hour days, 7 days a week (no days off), dreaming about a life where we could travel together without ship uniforms. We had no idea it would take years of long-distance, immigration struggles, and a LOT of beans and rice to get here.

Now we’re on our 35th country together, still figuring things out as we go, but feeling so grateful we didn’t give up on each other or our dream of seeing the world side by side.

👉 You don’t need to buy tons of winter gear 🧤

👉 You can make glass igloos semi-affordable

👉  November is risky (but can be worth it)

👉  Uber exists (!)
