I don't think retirement is the right word anymore....
The traditional idea was quite simple.
Work hard.
Save enough.
Retire.
Stop working.
I feel that doesnβt appeal to me.
I don't necessarily want to stop being useful.
I don't want to stop learning, creating or earning either.
What I want less of is obligations...
Less rushing.
Less giving most of my waking hours to things that don't particularly matter to me.
Maybe the goal isn't retirement at all.
Maybe it's reaching a point where work becomes a choice rather than the thing your entire life has to fit around.
That feels like a very interesting destination.
How about you? Would you rather stop working completely β or simply work very differently?
