🌺 TAFEA DAY 2025 – Summary of Achievements in central Tanna area council 🌺
As we look forward to celebrating TAFEA Day, we proudly reflect on key achievements across government, community, and partner-supported initiatives. These efforts reflect our shared commitment to sustainable development and community resilience.
1. National Government Projects
Tar-Sealed Road Construction: Project signed and construction already underway, significantly improving transportation and accessibility.
Louiaru Dispensary Upgrade: Official declaration of the dispensary as a Health Centre, increasing access to essential health services.
comunity policing (Seafety and Security): Graduation of 48 comunity safety team
Feeder Road Clearance: Ongoing clearance works are enhancing connectivity for rural and remote communities.
2. Area Council-Level Initiatives
Cooperative Support: Multiple cooperatives registered and operating, fostering local entrepreneurship and economic empowerment.
Community Infrastructure:
Six community houses planned — 2 launched, 4 under preparation.
Area Council Office – Stage 2: Construction currently in progress.
Leulick Fish Bond: Active project supporting local fisheries and food security.
Community Savings Scheme: Continued operation of savings initiatives, promoting financial inclusion and community self-reliance.
3. NGO and Partner-Supported Projects
We extend heartfelt appreciation to our NGO partners and development stakeholders for their ongoing collaboration and support in the following areas:
Capacity Building & Training: Skills development programs across agriculture, fisheries, livelihoods, and youth empowerment.
Nursery Establishments: Support for community nurseries, promoting food security and climate resilience.
Water Projects: Implementation of clean water systems and infrastructure in underserved areas.
Technical Support: Continued advisory services and resource mobilization in comunity .
