Director of the Correctional Services Department, Johnny Marango, has confirmed that the 19-year-old young man has now been placed at the High Risk Facility.

Mr. Marango explained that John Fred came from a home where only his mother looked after him, which contributed to some of his problematic behavior.

People who have lost or misplaced their national ID cards can still apply for a new one in time to vote.

Senior Registrar from the Department of Civil Registration and ID Management, Jack Edwards, says their office will remain open during the election period to assist voters.

Mr. Edwards also reminded the public that it is prohibited to give your ID card to someone else.

More than 200 ballot boxes are being distributed to polling stations across Sanma Province ahead of the by-election for the Santo Rural constituency.

Four candidates are contesting the single seat.

Sanma Provincial Secretary General and Returning Officer, Jonathan Iavere, confirmed to VBTC News that the election budget for the constituency is VT 5,896,000.

Tove Food Limited has announced it will take legal action against Dynamic Supply Company Vanuatu, blaming them for the loss of a chicken container valued at over VT 9 million.

The container of frozen chicken was condemned by the Department of Biosecurity after it was found unsafe for consumption. Tove Food claims the product spoiled due to handling or delays caused by Dynamic Supply.

According to Tove Food, the loss has significantly affected their business, prompting the company to seek compensation through the courts
