A 24-year-old man has been sentenced to one year in prison by the Supreme Court for unlawful sexual in*******se with a 14 year old girl.

The court reveals that the girl had spent three days at the man’s home during the incident.

Even though the court acknowledged they are in a romantic relationship, Justice Beverleigh Joshua told the offender “whether the sexual act was consensual, your actions broke the law.

Vanuatu will host its first-ever B-License coaching course this October in Port Vila, giving local and provincial coaches the opportunity to enhance their skills under expert instruction.

VBTC Sports spoke with Vanuatu Football Federation (VFF) Technical Director Peter Takaro, who confirmed that an instructor will run the course from October 6 to 11.

Doctors at Vanuatu National Hospital say almost half of child deaths in the country are linked to complications around pregnancy and birth.

Speaking during a panel discussion on maternal and child health , Dr. Walesi Natuman, a paediatrician at VNH, said perinatal disorders remain the leading cause of death for children under five in Vanuatu (45%), followed by malaria, diarrhoea, and pneumonia (27%). This is according to national mortality estimates published by BioMed Central.

In return for the AUS $ 500 million (around VT38 Billion) aid and demand for visa-waver, Vanuatu has nothing to offer Australia apart from trust, mutual respect and friendship that the two countries shared since 1983.

“We are not offering them anything, it is more of a bilateral agreement that we strike with the government of Australia, we are not offering anything to them,” Prime Minister Jotham Napat told reporters this week.
