The Ministry of Education and Training is strengthening how schools, teachers, and partners work together — all to improve learning for children from kindergarten to Year 3.

A new coaching approach, support to 40 focus schools, and closer coordination with partners like Australia, New Zealand, Save the Children, and GPE are helping teachers improve literacy, numeracy, and daily classroom practice.

The captain of the MV Kafe Star has been suspended after the vessel struck Big Sista at the Sino Van jetty in Port Vila yesterday.

Acting Commissioner of the Maritime Safety Authority, Lloyd Fikiasi, told VBTC News that an investigation is now underway while MV kafe Star is detained with, Captain and engineer suspended.

A high-pressure system located over the Tasman Sea, between Australia and New Zealand, is causing rough weather in Port Vila today.

Weather forecaster Ellen Luke from the Vanuatu Meteorology and Geo-Hazards Department said the system is affecting the central parts of Vanuatu, bringing heavy cloud and thunderstorms to some islands in the central region.

And it's likely to stay over the weekend.
