Yesterday's AlofaLei Swimwear Showcase & Brand Launch at Taumeasina Island Resort, brought together fashion, culture, creativity and community.

Congratulations to founder and designer Leilani Tuimalatu, whose vision came to life in a collection that was both contemporary and timeless. The designs struck a beautiful balance between modern silhouettes and Polynesian influences, with colours that were vibrant yet understated, sophisticated yet playful. Every detail reflected care, intention and a genuine sense of pride.

A special congratulations also to Lanuola Boutique, the exclusive Samoa stockist for AlofaLei Swimwear. This collaboration between two young women entrepreneurs was one of the highlights of the evening and a wonderful example of women supporting women in business.

We revisit ‘Becoming Fogalepolo: A Farmer's Journey to Preserve Family Heritage’ a short documentary depicting the story behind Ifiele'ele Plantation in Fasito'o-uta.

At the heart of this story is Fogalepolo Lepou (Paul), whose return home to Samoa became a journey of honouring his late mother’s dream for their family land. Together with wife Joan, they transformed the land into Ifiele'ele Plantation - an organic orchard, peaceful retreat, and producer of healthy fruit preserves.

Guided by the philosophy of being stewards of the land for future generations, Becoming Fogalepolo is a story of family, legacy, and the enduring bond between people and place.

A dining experience where local flavours met Japanese-inspired finesse, all in support of a powerful cause. From palolo risotto to miso-cured salmon, this was a night to remember.
