About Us
The NGO “Prosperiteti” was founded on March 22, 2006, with the mission of raising awareness and empowering the Roma, Ashkali, and Egyptian communities, with a particular focus on the Egyptian community. Since its inception, the organization has focused on media, culture, youth, and gender equality, while also addressing vital issues such as human rights, access to education and healthcar
e, and influencing local and central policies in favor of the community. Key Areas of Action
🔹 Media & Information – In 2011, the organization established Prosperiteti Channel, the first online Egyptian media platform, which initially operated as a mini-radio through its portal. Over time, the organization expanded its influence through radio-television programs, starting with “Spektri Egjiptian” on RTK and now with “Fokusi Ynë”, in collaboration with Syri Vision.
🔹 Culture & Arts – The organization is one of the most active actors in Gjakova in the field of culture, organizing hundreds of theatrical performances, concerts, exhibitions, poetry readings, short films, and documentaries. Additionally, it is the founder and owner of two significant cultural festivals:
Java Egjiptiane (Egyptian Week)
Art Skena Egjiptiane (Egyptian Art Stage)
These festivals aim to promote Egyptian theater, films, and traditional crafts with Egyptian heritage.
🔹 Rights and Public Policy – In addition to its engagement in media and culture, Prosperiteti has influenced local and central policies to improve access to education (through literacy courses, English language courses), healthcare (cervical cancer prevention campaigns, free gynecological check-ups, awareness campaigns on sexually transmitted diseases, etc.), and the empowerment of the Egyptian community through vocational training and professional skills development.
