🏰 Kreuzenstein Castle 🏰 Austria.
Its history dates back to the early 12th century. The name "Grizanstein" first appears in written sources around 1115. It probably comes from one of the castle's first owners, Dietrich von Grizanestaine of the Bavarian Formbacher family.
In the mid-13th century, Kreuzenstein Castle fell into the hands of the Habsburgs, who
They managed it for more than 250 years.
During the Thirty Years' War, Kreuzenstein Castle was besieged and severely damaged. It was partially destroyed and gradually collapsed.
In the 19th century, Johann Nepomuk Graf Wilczek rebuilt the castle and gave it the appearance we can admire today 😊
