🎶 Prishtina Jazz Catz XVIII 🎶

Me shumë qef po ju njoftojmë që po vjen edicioni i radhës i Prishtina Jazz Catz Jam Session në Defy Them, edhe këtë herë e kemi një mysafir shumë special për me hap natën: bateristin austriak Wolfgang Rainer.

Si bashkëpunim i parë me Ambasadën e Austrisë në Prishtinë, që po e përkrahin edhe po e sjellin artistin, një ditë para eventit kemi me pas edhe një workshop të baterisë, të udhëhequr prej vet Wolfgangut.

Pas hapjes, vazhdojmë si gjithmonë me Prishtina Jazz Catz Jam Session, ku krejt Jazz muzikantët janë të mirëseardhun me u ngjit në skenë edhe me e majt gjallë atmosferën e improvizimit.

Një falenderim i madh për z. Armend Xhaferi-Xhafa, drejtor i Prishtina Jazz Festival, që na ka lidhë me Wolfgangun edhe e ka bo këtë bashkëpunim realitet.

Ju mirëpresm në një mbrëmje ku muzika, improvizimi edhe atmosfera e Prishtinës e rezonojnë krejt magjinë.

We are delighted to announce the next Prishtina Jazz Catz Jam Session at Defy Them, featuring a very special guest for the opening act: Austrian drummer Wolfgang Rainer.

This marks the first collaboration with the Austrian Embassy in Prishtina, who will be supporting and hosting the Austrian artist for this event. Thanks to their support, we are also able to offer a drum workshop the day before, led by Wolfgang Rainer.

Following the opening act, we continue as always with our signature Prishtina Jazz Catz Jam Session, welcoming musicians to join the stage and keep the spirit of improvisation alive.

Our sincere gratitude goes to Mr. Armend Xhaferi Xhafa, director of the Prishtina Jazz Festival, for connecting us with Wolfgang Rainer and helping make this collaboration possible.

Punëtori për bateri me Wolfi Rainer në Prishtina Jazz Catz

Jemi super të lumtur t’ju ftojmë në një punëtori të veçantë për bateri me bateristin austriak Wolfi Rainer,
e mundësuar nga Ambasada e Austrisë.

Wolfi Rainer, i lindur në 1977, vjen nga një familje artistësh – nëna e tij ishte këngëtare opere. Ai filloi me piano dhe trompë, por në moshën 13-vjeçare u ul për herë të parë pas baterisë dhe nuk u nda më prej saj.

Studimet në Universitetin e Artit në Graz i përfundoi me rezultate të shkëlqyera, çka i hapi derën për të vazhduar shkollimin në New York City. Atje, në vitin 2008, ai regjistroi albumin e tij të parë Gotham Tales me muzikantë të njohur si George Garzone dhe David Gilmore. Më pas u rikthye në Evropë dhe u vendos në Vjenë, ku bashkëpunoi me shumë emra të njohur të skenës së jazz-it: Erich Kleinschuster, Karl Ratzer, Saxofour, si edhe me muzikantë që kanë luajtur me vetë Miles Davis — Adam Holzman dhe Mino Cinelu. Në 2014 fitoi Çmimin e Jazz-it të qytetit Innsbruck, dhe koncertet e tij e kanë çuar në shumë skena në Evropë, SHBA, Brazil, Kinë, Japoni dhe Islandë. Prej vitit 2010 ai punon edhe si muzikant dhe kompozitor teatri.

Kjo punëtori është një mundësi shumë e mirë për bateristë, perkusionistë dhe kushdo që e do ritmin për të mësuar nga një muzikant me përvojë të jashtëzakonshme dhe energji inspiruese.

Drum Workshop with Wolfi Rainer – Prishtina Jazz Catz

We are excited to announce a special Drum Workshop led by the outstanding Austrian drummer Wolfi Rainer, made possible through the support of the Austrian Embassy.

Wolfi Rainer, born in 1977, grew up in a musical family as the son of an opera singer. He began his musical journey studying piano and trumpet before discovering his true calling behind the drum set at the age of 13. He graduated summa cm laude from the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz, receiving the Rector’s Appreciation Award, which enabled further studies in New York City.

During his time in New York, he recorded his debut album Gotham Tales (2008), featuring jazz greats George Garzone and David Gilmore. After returning to Europe, he settled in Vienna, collaborating with renowned artists such as Erich Kleinschuster, Karl Ratzer, Saxofour, and Miles Davis collaborators Adam Holzman and Mino Cinelu. In 2014, he received the Jazz Prize of the City of Innsbruck. His performances have taken him across Europe, the USA, Brazil, China, Japan, and Iceland. Since 2010, he has also been active as a theatre musician and composer for various European stages.

This workshop is a rare opportunity for drummers, percussionists, and rhythm enthusiasts to learn directly from one of Austria’s most accomplished and internationally active jazz musicians.
