Ode to a Gym Teacher debuted in 1975 on Meg Christian’s first solo album, I Know You Know, which was also the first LP released by Olivia Records!

Today we have Chappell, Renee Rapp, and Hayley Kiyoko… but back then the community gathered around crooners and their guitars like Meg, Cris Williamson, and Melissa Etheridge! Songs like this were some of the first to bring Iesbians together around music, and often the first time we heard our experiences represented in media. That was Women’s Music for ya!
