Historic Grand Canyon North Rim Lodge Destroyed in Bravo Dragon Wildfire

GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK, Ariz. (July 13, 2025) — A wildfire that began from a lightning strike within the Grand Canyon on July 4, 2025 dramatically intensified, consuming the iconic Grand Canyon Lodge on the North Rim, along with essential park infrastructure and residential buildings, park authorities confirmed Sunday .

Park Superintendent Ed Keable told staff and locals that the blaze destroyed the lodge—the only visitor accommodation at the North Rim—plus the visitor center, gas station, administrative offices, wastewater treatment plant, and several employee homes
