My friends Daniel & Christine are absolute angels. They are some of the most generous people I've ever known. If you don't know who I'm talking about, but you've attended the PT wooden boat festival, you may have met them - they live aboard a big wooden blue-hulled sailboat named ARIEL OF VICTORIA. Daniel is a longtime tall ship sailor and Christine works for Washington State Ferries. They have welcomed too many people aboard their home to count. One of the regular guests aboard ARIEL is my first tall ship captain, Gary Stugard. I see Gary at the festival every year now - Daniel & Christine host him. He's been lucky enough to become their older, sometimes wise, sometimes goofy, sort of adopted great uncle.

Daniel & Christine have decided to take Gary in during his recovery from open heart surgery. They and others who are grateful for their support of Gary are asking his greater community of friends and old shipmates to chip in to help them care for him during his recovery. Anything helps! - Kim

SEA FEVER is ready for a restoration. Who wants this beauty? It's a classic, the finest Ben Seaborn design, and built by Vic Franck. It won Vic-Maui and has been to New Zealand and beyond. The current owner has some big family commitments that are making it impossible to properly maintain it.
