Hey yall, just wanted to say a little something about the closure of
I’m pretty upset about it. I moved to bris two years back with no network here, after my first visit to the Beardo it was immediately obvious to me that this was the real deal. The Beardo is a hugely important space for community in Meanjin. Most of my Brisbane friendships were forged over a beer at the Beardo front bar after a dirty, sweaty, schtinky rock show. More and more we’re seeing bris become dominated by developers and landlords that look to suffocate culture for profit. Pretty sickening, pretty defeating. Not really adding anything novel to the conversation here but just wanted to express a bit of gratitude for this important artist focused venue. A gut punch to an already struggling scene. But it’s in these sh*tty times that the DIY scene has to get resourceful and step up. Rock will live on. Get down to the Beardo and relish in it while we can. Cheers ❤️

Jasmin Adria came to us like a dream.

During a scene of havoc at the Gasometer in Collingwood, the loudest silence was broken by Jas, tearing through the air, playing with her band for the first time.

Sid and I couldn’t believe our ears, like a cartoon character catching a whiff of a pie resting on a windowsill, we were floating on air.
