Despite all the division in the world at the moment, we are still one people, one team, earthlings with the ability to unite and celebrate…we just come in many colors, but that’s what makes us beautiful. The country of India probably understands this best with it’s 1.43 billion people in 28 states, 22 official languages, and 6+ religions

Italian cuisine has officially been recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. After spending two months in Italy this past summer across 13 regions, we understand why.

This is just a small glimpse of some of the best things we ate. Italian cuisine is much more than pizza and pasta, it’s a philosophy of life. It’s about respecting raw ingredients, thoughtful pairings, and being intentional about how, when, and with whom we eat. Food in Italy is treated with care, passion, and purpose and hope it becomes an example for the world (no shortcuts!). While we’ve eaten incredible meals all over the world, nothing has compared to the consistency, freshness, and purity of the meals we had Italy.

P.S. Some of you may know, we had been vegan for nearly 10 years before traveling full time. Italy has changed us in ways that are hard to explain. While we may never return to being fully vegan, prioritizing quality, respecting ingredients and animals, and being mindful about how many animal products we consume will always remain a core part of our lifestyle.

We visited 5 epic rock-hewn churches of Tigray. Carved out of the sides of mountains between the 4th and 15th centuries, many of the churches of Tigray originate from the Aksumite empire where Christianity first came to Africa. These churches are some of the oldest continuously used religious buildings on the planet (older than most European churches). However, they receive almost no tourism compared to places like Notre-Dame or St. Peter’s Basilica.

⛪ Wukro Chirkos is the most accessible and beautifully carved gateway into Tigray’s rock-cut heritage.
⛪ Abraha we Atsbeha is famed for its cathedral-like interior and best-preserved frescoes.
⛪ Maryam Korkor is one of the largest rock-hewn churches, perched on a high plateau with insane views.
⛪ Daniel Korkor is the quiet sibling of Korkor, offering a serene viewpoint above the cliffs.
⛪ Abuna Yemata Guh is the highest & most dangerous to reach, often called the “Church in the Sky.”

Tigray, you’re unreal. So glad this trip was made possible thanks to and .t144
