Italian cuisine has officially been recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. After spending two months in Italy this past summer across 13 regions, we understand why.
This is just a small glimpse of some of the best things we ate. Italian cuisine is much more than pizza and pasta, it’s a philosophy of life. It’s about respecting raw ingredients, thoughtful pairings, and being intentional about how, when, and with whom we eat. Food in Italy is treated with care, passion, and purpose and hope it becomes an example for the world (no shortcuts!). While we’ve eaten incredible meals all over the world, nothing has compared to the consistency, freshness, and purity of the meals we had Italy.
P.S. Some of you may know, we had been vegan for nearly 10 years before traveling full time. Italy has changed us in ways that are hard to explain. While we may never return to being fully vegan, prioritizing quality, respecting ingredients and animals, and being mindful about how many animal products we consume will always remain a core part of our lifestyle.
