Most conversations about family homelessness focus on where families ought to be, I want to focus on how we can better support families where they are.

Housing Hope: A Systems Leadership Strategy for Family Stability is happening today. It’s a small, virtual workshop where we’ll look at alignment — housing, workforce, hospitality — and what happens when those pieces don’t talk to each other.

If you lead, manage, or influence systems that touch families, I’d value your voice in the room.

Listen I wanted to talk to y’all about comfort zones tonight~after all the driving and project preparation.

Well, I was checking my personal feed and my friend posted hers with the ChatGpt prompt (keep reading) ⬇️ so I thought I’d give it a try. Look at all the iterations of me! That’s what pushing beyond your comfort zone looks like; teacher, podcaster, truck driver, leader, advocate.

And then there’s the motivation behind these different versions of me~ My Kids. Since Spring’97 my purpose and prayer has been to be the best Mom I can be and that will never change.

Happy Sunday SistahGirl.

All of these were taken AFTER my own 'journey through hell'. At age 51 I find myself rebuilding my life and creating opportunities for our family I never imagined. Traisping the country in a semi 🚛, a family trip to FL for my 50th, an opportunity to be behind the mic, a podcaster, and a creator (finally a tech that's easy and straightforward enough for me to use😆 thank you Google).

It's been a long strenuous road. Building after devastation is never easy or quick. It is a very deliberate strategic process. Whether you're building from homelessness🖐🏾, job loss 🖐🏾, loss of a loved one 🖐🏾, loss of identity, purpose and direction🖐🏾 ....

SistahGirl, let me remind you to build toward the joy. Yes these were after the devastation but they were also toward something. Toward more laughter, more joyful experiences with each other, they were toward more opportunities and in the pursuit and discovery of open doors.

My Mom took this video of my kids playing in the backyard in the snow. Now when I pointed out their lack of complete snow gear and said she was letting them “run wild”, she texted back and said “they’re running free”🤷🏾‍♀️.
