One Bible verse that mentions the "fountains of the deep" is:

Genesis 7:11 (KJV)
In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.

Genesis 8:2 (KJV)
The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained.

The phrase "fountains of the deep" refers to the underground sources of water that burst forth during the Great Flood in the time of Noah, as described in the book of Genesis.

400 miles below the surface of the Earth, scientists have found a huge underground water reservoir. Contrary to surface water, this underground reservoir is confined within ringwoodite, a high-pressure mineral that, in extreme conditions, absorbs water like a sponge.
According to estimates, this underground reservoir has over three times as much water as all of the oceans on Earth's surface put together. Its existence might change our understanding of the planet's water cycle by demonstrating how important the deep Earth is to controlling the flow of water around the planet.
These discoveries have the potential to fundamentally alter our knowledge of geological processes like plate tectonics and volcanism while providing fresh perspectives on the stability of Earth's surface water across geological timeframes.
