Watch me play the following roles along with many other great performances over at see below for details on the roles
🎯 Michael Corleone in the Godfather Part One: Originally played by Al Pacino who wrote a recent autobiography “Sonny Boy” that I’ve been reading. The scene is when Michael enters the hospital seeing his father the Don played by after he has been shot. The scene sets the stage for Michael’s arc turning point and self realization that he might have what it takes to “save” his “family”. I chose this because it allows me to artistically express what I experienced when I lost my father in 2006 seeing him at his most vulnerable in Columbia Presbyterian hospital. Although totally different external circumstances the family dynamic is something I related to deeply…This is why I chose the scene as my personal scene for this masterclass.
🎯 Dan in Closer: Originally played by Jude Law in the movie based on a play by Patrick Marber about a quartet of strangers that brings up the question of truth and connection in relationships. Themes of jealousy, power, and love come to light and this is by FAR the most out of my comfort zone I’ve felt doing a scene yet! It’s a dark one not for the kids but I’m very grateful to be directed by my much more experienced scene partner Courtney Elvira. I actually was asked to take over the part from a classmate that had a scheduling conflict on the event day but I wanted a challenge so stepped up to the plate. An overwhelming scene from a practice, consumption, and delivery standpoint but I know it will lead to a lot of growth as I’ll be working on staying very present and in the moment with my scene partner.
🎯 Ziggy in Young Frankenstein: A Mel Brooks classic that I remember watching with my father! I have a small role in this as a villager looking for the monster. It’s fun where I get to play with an accent and simply that, FUN!
Hope to see plenty of you there! Perhaps you’ll be a student next at 👀
