58 - is never too late!

Dublin Marathon 2024 completed in 3hrs 44 minutes ☘️🏃🏻‍♂️😅

So many thank yous to those who made it such a memorable experience.

To all my family and friends who donated to Marie Curie UK the representatives we met in Dublin were delighted with the amount raised and pass on their thanks.

My brilliant training and running buddy Flo Wilson who kept me accountable plus it’s always handy to run with a doctor, especially at my age!

Michelle Walters endured 16 weeks of my single-minded focus training then travelled to Dublin with our friend Mark Blankstone; you were great cheerleaders on route alongside the brilliant Dublin crowd 💚

Well done to my son Hugo on completing his first marathon

What will I do with this spare time or my next challenge? Are you up for setting yourself a challenge? 🤔

WE ALL HAVE MIDLIFE MOANS BUT REMEMBER…

Appreciate what you “get to do” instead of what you “have to do”

Acknowledge all that fabulous wisdom earned and

Recognise those who got you here including family and friends both new and old, good and bad!

But overall remember reaching midlife is a privilege denied to many so seize it, savour it and smile that you made it ❤️✨

Keep active…joining a club is one great way to stay fit, keep you accountable, and improve your skills. Members of my club are young and old (teens to 70s), men and women, beginners and experts. You’ll find clubs very welcoming and your level of participation (competitively or socially!) is down to you. Importantly, there is no judging of ability just support.

I can understand why joining any kind of sports club might seem daunting but why not check out some clubs near you and have a try.

Smash the ageing negative stereotypes of aches, pains, memory loss, slowing down and overall doom and gloom by

- Embracing our age - a privilege denied to many…
- Eating well
- Staying active
- Having fun in new ways
- Setting new challenges
- Becoming who we are meant to be
- Loving and appreciating life

South Africa challenges and chilling 🚴‍♂️😎

Completed the Cape Town Cycle Tour, trekked up Table Mountain and tried cold water swimming while still having a great time with friends.

Who agrees it’s good to combine holidays with the odd challenge?!
