The transfer portal and the NIL scene are things college athletes must become familiar with, even though the rules and circumstances surrounding them appear to be changing by the day, including former Hewitt-Trussville softball star Jenna Lord, who currently plays at Charlotte.
Lord believes both aspects provide college athletes with plenty of benefits, although the spirit of the system isn’t quite the way it was intended.
“I have mixed feelings on both, just because I feel that the usage of both now have strayed away from the original intent, especially in terms of NIL,” Lord told the Cahaba Sun.
