🌸🌿 Oak Tree Comics is looking to hire an artist for a picture book. 🦥 ☀️ The envisioned art style blends modern comic book imagery with the warmth and kindness of a classic picture book. The story is about a mindful friendship, set in an Amazonian rainforest 📚

🌟 WHO CAN APPLY? 🌟

Calling all Los Angeles writers! Oak Tree Comics invites you to submit your story for an anthology of children’s comics in support of wildfire relief. For submissions guidelines, please keep reading ⬇️

🌟PROJECT UPDATE: To date, we have selected 18 stories to be part of the anthology. To round out the book, we are hoping to find up to five more stories.

Structurally, the anthology will be divided into three sections, with stories about…

1️⃣ The fires
2️⃣ The ongoing relief efforts
3️⃣ And hopeful visions for the future

For section 1️⃣ (the fires), we are no longer accepting story submissions.

For section 2️⃣ (the relief efforts), we are hoping to find up to two more stories.

For section 3️⃣ (hopeful visions for the future), we are hoping to find up to three more stories.

🌟 OUR SUBMISSION GUIDELINES 🌟

🔘All story contributors must live in or be from the Los Angeles area.

🔘All stories must be comics intended for a middle-grade audience.

🔘All stories must be anticipated to be either 6 or 8 pages of comics in length.

🔘You do not have to be an illustrator to submit a story idea.

🔘To submit your story, please email 1) a cover letter AND 2) a synopsis of your story idea to info(at)oaktreecomics(dot)com.

The latest issue of Thorn the Unicorn is now available as an ebook—🔗 in bio! 🎉

🎨 CREATIVE UPDATE 🎨

As we create the second volume of Thorn the Unicorn, we will be releasing the individual issues first as eBooks ($1.99 per issue).

and are currently hard at work respectively illustrating and lettering issue 10. Meanwhile, author is writing issues 11 through 14. The second volume will be a total of 7 issues, so we are fast approaching being halfway done creating it! We’ll have more creative updates for you soon 🦄☺️🎊📚
