COLLECTIONS OFFICER (2x)
Reporting to the Manager Collections and Assets Recoveries, the Collections Officer is responsible for monitoring of delinquent loans and credit cards accounts, establishing and maintaining customer contacts for loans and credit cards in arrears, attend to customer issues relating to delinquent loans, liaising with lending support and other business units within the Bank to rectify any system issues relating to delinquent loans. Work with Manager Asset Recoveries to ensure rates & write-offs are minimized and within budgets.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The core functions of the position are as follows but not limited to:
• Monitor all delinquent loan and credit card accounts and follow up on arrears by telephone, e-mail and any other form of communication.
• Ensure customer delinquent arrears letters are reviewed and issued/posted in a timely manner.
• Record and register customer/bank communication on data base information storing system.
• Conduct weekly review of unsecured personal loans and credit cards in arrears past 90 days and make appropriate recommendation to Manager Asset Recoveries for write off/recovery/restructure consideration.
• Attend to customer enquiries direct from customers and or referred by other business units within the bank.
• Ensure all accounts written off are loaded on CDB, attend to customer CDB amendments and follow up on written off accounts for recovery/collections purpose.
ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE
• A minimum qualification of Grade 12 education and the completion of business related studies would be highly desirable.
• Minimum of (2) years’ experience in general banking/credit/ collections type role
• Proficient skills in Outlook, MS Word & Excel
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Reliable with high sense of commitment and responsibility.
