This woman was truly evil. She owned a small restaurant, and in 1973, police raided her kitchen and uncovered something deeply disturbing.
A few years earlier, in 1970, the quiet town of Blackwater, Louisiana, began attracting strange visitors from all over the region. No one understood why at first.
It was later discovered that a local woman—soon nicknamed the “BBQ Lady”—had opened a popular diner. One dish in particular made her famous: a stew so delicious it drew people from near and far. Anyone who tasted it said the flavor was unforgettable, almost addictive.
By 1973, several travelers who had stopped in Blackwater had mysteriously vanished. Because of the growing concern, Detective Ennis Dean was assigned to investigate the disappearances.
Dean visited the BBQ Lady’s diner and ordered a large bowl of her famous stew. Shortly after eating it, he suddenly collapsed. When he regained consciousness, he realized he was locked inside a basement.
He heard footsteps coming closer and pretended to remain unconscious. As the sound grew nearer, he opened his eyes to see the BBQ Lady rushing straight toward him. Dean fought back, managed to break free, and escaped.
He immediately alerted local police, who launched a full investigation of the diner. What they discovered in the kitchen was horrifying.
The so-called beef stew wasn’t beef—and it wasn’t made from any kind of animal meat at all.
