Spent a few days on the northern California and Oregon coast, visiting Redwoods NP (which consists of a number of small parks, maintained by both the NPS and the state of CA).

We walked through the Lady Bird Johnson Grove and the Grove of the Titans. There were so many more flowers blooming in LBJ Grove. The Titans area is experiencing a drought; the ferns are under stress and we spotted only one banana slug. The slugs were plentiful during our trip in 2018. It's so bad, the NPS is asking for slug siting reports.

We camped on the coast. Enjoyed the sound of a buoy gong literally every 7.5 seconds. The waves couldn't cover that up!

Spent an afternoon on the Oregon coast and found a hidden gem, Checto Point Park, with a beautiful monument to the rivers that pour into the Pacific Ocean. It wasn't an easy walk to this seaside park, but it was worth it.

Wish we could have spent more time here, but time for a new adventure....

Next up.... San Francisco and Napa Valley!

We planned a fur-friendly day in Napa. Started with a garden tasting at Frogs Leap. It's a less formal setting, but it's nice to walk through the various vegetable and flower gardens, fruit trees and vineyard, then sit under the cool arbor to sip our selections.

Then lunch at Fume Bistro. Bella was able to order a chicken breast from the pet menu. Though impatient, she was very pleased with her selection. Highly recommend Fume. All our dishes were delicious and service was fabulous.

We ended the day with a tasting at my personal favorite, Hendry Ranch. We've been wine club members for years and they always treat us like family. Skip was our wine guide (again!) and was a delightful host.

The next day we did the tourist stuff in San Fran and had lunch with our long time friend, Greg Wilson. Enjoyed dessert at Ghirardellis, yum!!

We stayed at Skyline Wilderness Park on the outskirts of Napa. Lovely stay and the owners/hosts were so nice.

Enjoyed our stay at Yosemite. Rode the e-bikes on the valley trails for a new perspective. Screeched to a halt while a rattlesnake crossed the path.

Mirror Lake was very pretty. Enjoyed a picnic lunch by the river.

Drove up to Glacier Point for views of Yosemite Falls and the Valley; Half Dome, Vernal and Nevada Falls. Watched a storm come across the mountain a few minutes later. Hope everyone made it off Half Dome safely.

Took a walk through Mariposa Grove, where a lovely deer was not phased by all the tourists wanderingaround.

Stopped at Idle Hour winery and bistro for snacks and wine tasting. The brie with apricots was decadent and the manchego cheese with crusty bread and chorizo was tasty. Idle Hour is pet friendly too!

We needed to escape the extreme heat near Sequoia, so we found a county park campground in Ventura County... right next to Big Sky Movie Ranch - but zero cell service! Sporadic or non existent cell service has been a thing for the last couple of weeks, resulting in no post updates!

We made an afternoon trip to a fur-friendly beach near Malibu and dipped our toes in the Pacific. Enjoyed a sunset dinner near the beach. Returned to the campsite to a few peacocks putting on a show.

We toured the Ronald Reagan Library (our 3rd Presidential Library in a month, it's our new thing!). Highly recommend this one. The Dead Sea Scrolls also had a beautiful exhibit there as well.

We planned several days at Sequoia and Kings Canyon NPs but ended up with 1 day. Jeff and I were last here in 2015 with our sons.

Hated to cut this trip short, but a heat wave was starting. Our campground was forecast to hit 107F and that didn't sound fun - or safe for our fur friend Bella.

We did make the climb up Moro Rock and the hikes to the famous Sequoia Generals, along with a picnic lunch.

We treated ourselves to a memorable dinner with our friends Todd and Krys inside the Eiffel Tower.

Madame Brasserie, perched 187 feet up the tower, offers a unique dining experience, featuring delectable cuisine crafted by Chef Thierry Marx, paired with breathtaking views of the city.

The panoramic views of Paris from the tower are particularly impressive at sunset, when the sky is painted with vibrant shades of pink, orange, and gold. As night falls, the Eiffel Tower's lights come alive, creating a magical atmosphere.

Every evening, the Eiffel Tower dazzles with its iconic blinking lights, creating a breathtaking sight over Paris! ✨ 🇫🇷

20,000 golden sparkling lights twinkle for 5 minutes at the beginning of every hour after sunset, up until 1 AM adding an extra touch of magic to the Parisian skyline.

We were able to Visit the iconic Notre-Dame Cathedral 🏰 🇫🇷 and it is amazing to see the restoration progress after the 2019 fire. The insides of the Cathedral almost seem too clean considering the original construction started in 1163. It was facinating to learn the restoration team are using medieval techniques and even harvested 1000 ancient oak trees to rebuild the spire just like the original!
