We have been busy this past week and weekend getting the boys expansion on their pasture started. Of course we grow rocks here and we grow them well, so digging holes not only when it is dry dry but also when you hit rock inches down is not fun. This gave us the perfect time to try.out the new rock bit. With a little bit of finagling to get down pressure we were off, albeit not fast. We have the main posts set and we are now ready to pull and stretch the fence and add the t posts. Fingers crossed we find some places with no rocks planted. The area we are fencing is totally grew up with lots of weeds and brushes and briar patches (ask me how I know 🤣). They should love it and it will almost triple the size of their pasture. As they eat it down we will start to clear out some of it and eventually sew it with things they like to eat. Now the next question will be if I can get them away from the girls long enough to try it out once it's done. Also, im fairly sure the girls believe this is for them amd are keeping an eye on us. The boys are not paying any attention most of the time, although I have caught them meandering closer to see what we are doing and Pogo keeps staring me down trying to figure out what we are doing. I have a feeling when we open this ee are going to have some happy boys and some mad girls 🤣. Also dont mind the mess, we hadn't cleaned up yet. Oh yeah I also threw in a pic I snapped by the pond of some of our resident turtles. The little stuck around to allow me shots, the big one pretty much told me I didnt have his permission as he rolled back in the water..😆

Well guys it has been a sucky day on the farm. We found Susie, one of our does due to kid on September 9th, hiding. She had given birth early to two little sleeping girls. Thankfully she is doing good. We are just waiting on her placenta to pass, but she is eating and drinking. We waited until she walked away to get them so she could say goodbye. This part of farming sucks. She still calls some and looks at me and it breaks my heart for her. We are hoping she passes the placenta soon. I did try to milk her out, but she doesnt have a ton of colustrum and I gave her some calcium to help her too. This was not how I wanted to start our fall kidding but here we are. We still have 3 set to kid, one on the 9th and two on the 28th and 29th, so here is to hoping they have healthy happy babies.

Today may have well been Monday on repeat! So we have been working on the master bath because the toilet was leaking. We have replaced a part of the subfloor, new tile laid in the room where the toilet is and the new toilet is going in today (maybe, hopefully). New faucet for the sink ordered because the old one leaks and on the way, new exhaust vent for the main part of the bathroom on the way because I need one with a light in it and then eventually we will get the tile put down in the main part of the bathroom as well. Anyway, I decided to clean the main part a little because it is a little dirty where we have been working in it and the end is in sight woohoo. Well, I cleaned the shower and the shower head (gently) and now it is pouring water from everyone nook and cranny it has. Its old i get it, I was just wanting to wait a little before replacing something else. So okay need a new shower head for the master no problem, just add it to the ever growing list. So I decide to vacuum, cant mess that up right....wrong, my belt broke on the vacuum 🤦‍♀️. So now im afraid to touch anything else. I dont know what it is today, but if I touch it it breaks..ugh. I just need to get this done because I have a ton of stuff piling up outside and good weather to fence along with clean a barn and get the stalls ready for the mommas to be who two are going at the first of next month and I cant get ahead because stuff keeps breaking! So yeah, if you want something new for your house but it is still working hit me up because I seem to have the magic touch for breaking things right now 🤣. I should have just stayed in bed today. On the plus side my new magical power seems to only involve inanimate objects as I have touched the goats and so far they haven't broke yet...or..well..anymore than they already are. If you have goats you know what im saying 😆. On the bright side (because why not be optimistic) we had planned this bathroom updo, albeit not this soon, so yay me getting stuff knocked off my list ahead of their schedule 🤣🤪

Our bucks are already coming into rut and they are hitting it hard with the blubbering and the waaaahs. In truth I have been smelling them since the end of June, but now Graham and Pogo and Buckshot are turning yellow already. Not to mention my girls are already lining up at the corner. Tried to tell them today it was way to early. Nothing is happening for a few more months. Whiskey looked shocked, Pogo ignored, Buckshot just have me a look and Graham had his tongue out with a we will see about that look. There goes my peaceful days, now replaced with the sound of blubbering and waahs and not to mention dont stand to close lest you turn yellow too 🤣. Ahhh goodness it's too early for this! On the plus side, I will know all the girls cycles early while they yell and scream at me. Ahhh the sounds and smell of fall that just came a little early 😂

It has been so hot out that our outdoor projects, besides small ones are on hold. We need to do two full pastures and then run a fence down to create a small pasture for the kids when they are weaning or to small for the big pasture that will allow them access to the kidding barn. Hoping with the cool down comimh we can at least get started on the boys second pasture soon. Since it has been too hot to do outside projects I am catching up on some inside projects. Mainly just getting stuff organized and doing a deep clean and upgrading some things I didnt like. Although this may not have been a good idea because now I have all these ideas on a total remodel especially in the kitchen and master bath that may or may not have got added to my list 🤣🤣. Thankfully I am almost done with this little project because one, my bank account will really not like my ideas and two, I have too many projects on the list and I swear the more we do the more we add to it. We are like oohhh we could expand this part out and add it for the goats, it wouldnt be that bad or take to long to do or what do you think about this. As it stands right now my fall is taken with outdoor and basement projects. My winter has some house projects sprinkled in. We are redoing the master bathroom and laying down tile (thanks to a leak) and a new toilet where that is and finishing it up a little bit later on. Then I have a breeding season to plan and get started along with a small kidding season that starts in September, which i will be updating about in another week or so, so stay tuned to see who we are going to have kid 😁. So yeah my plate may be a little full right now. Thankfully I just have a very small storage closet to organize. Surely, my brain cant come up with a new project with that right!? Now if I could just teach these goats how to put fencing up instead of trying to tear it down we could get these projects knocked out in no time 🤣.
