लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल विकास लखेड़ा असम राइफल्स के नए महानिदेशक नियुक्त किए गए हैं। कैबिनेट की नियुक्ति समिति ने उनकी नियुक्ति को मंजूरी दे दी है और उनका कार्यकाल दो वर्षों का होगा।

ले. जनरल विकास लखेड़ा (55 वर्ष) 01 अगस्त को असम राइफल्स के महानिदेशक का पद संभालेंगे। ले. जनरल टीपीएस रावत के बाद वह इस पद पर नियुक्त होने वाले दूसरे उत्तराखंडी हैं। वह मूलरूप से टिहरी गढ़वाल के जखंड गांव के निवासी हैं, लेकिन वर्तमान में उनका परिवार देहरादून के वसंत विहार में रहता है। ले. जनरल विकास लखेड़ा ने डीएवी पीजी कॉलेज से स्नातक किया है। फिर भारतीय सैन्य अकादमी से पास आउट होकर उन्होंने फोर सिख लाइट रेजीमेंट में कमीशन प्राप्त किया।

कुशल खिलाड़ी और विभिन्न भाषाओं के हैं जानकार
अपनी सैन्य सेवा के दौरान वह जम्मू-कश्मीर के आतंक प्रभावित क्षेत्रों से लेकर उत्तर-पूर्व के नगालैंड, असम और अरुणाचल प्रदेश में तैनात रहे हैं। एक अनुभवी सैन्य अधिकारी होने के साथ-साथ वह कुशल खिलाड़ी, संगीत प्रेमी और विभिन्न भाषाओं के जानकार भी हैं। उनके पिता विष्णु प्रसाद लखेड़ा भारतीय सेना की सिख रेजीमेंट के बाद बीएसएफ में डीआईजी रहे हैं। उनकी छोटी बहन के पति वीरेंद्र सिंह भी सेना में कर्नल हैं और छोटे भाई असीम लखेड़ा इंजीनियर रेजीमेंट में कर्नल रैंक पर तैनात हैं।

ले. जनरल विकास लखेड़ा को मिले हैं विभिन्न सम्मान
26 फरवरी 1969 को जन्मे लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल विकास लखेड़ा को उनकी उत्कृष्ट सेवा के लिए कई प्रमुख सैनिक सम्मान प्राप्त हुए हैं जिसमें अति विशिष्ट सेना मेडल, सेना मेडल, चीफ ऑफ आर्मी स्टाफ कमेंडेशन कार्ड और दो जीओसी-इन-सी कमेंडेशन कार्ड शामिल हैं। हाल ही में उन्हें राष्ट्रपति द्रौपदी मुर्मू द्वारा एवीएसएम से भी सम्मानित किया गया है और अब उन्होंने भारत के सबसे पुराने अर्धसैनिक बल असम राइफल्स के महानिदेशक की उपलब्धि प्राप्त की है।

उत्तराखंड से हैरान करने वाली खबर सामने आयी है. यहां देहरादून स्थित ग्राफ़िक इरा यूनिवर्सिटी (Graphic Era University) के दो छात्रों समेत तीन युवकों को पुलिस ने दबोचा है. इनपर चरस की तस्करी करने का आरोप है.

हिरासत में लिए गए तीनों युवकों में एक BBA और एक BCA कर रहे हैं जबकी तीसरा युवक मर्चेंट नेवी में सेलेक्शन के बाद कॉल लेटर आने का इंतजार कर रहा है. पुलिस इन्क्वायरी में तीनों ने बताया की उनसे पकड़ी गई चरस Graphic Era में सप्लाई होनी थी.

A fire broke out after a gas cylinder exploded in the canteen of a hotel situated in Uttarakhand’s Rudraprayag-Kedarnath road, officials said on Wednesday.

The incident took place on Tuesday night and the fire has been doused.

According to the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) they recieved information from Sonprayag police station that a fire broke out in a hotel’s canteen in Gaurikund due to explosion of a gas cylinder and that SDRF team is required for relief and rescue operations.
