I thought I knew English!! I have always spoken English in the UK but I’m not kidding, there are definitely times when in the UK where I didn’t understand anything being said to me and I’m going to assume the listener didn’t understand anything I said. What’s going on????!! 😂🇬🇧🤦‍♀️

Autumn is almost over and I cannot believe the year is drawing to a close. I know many don’t like autumn as a season but not me. I absolutely love it. The colors, the smells, everything is moving from vivid Colors to more subtle hues. It denotes change. Much like our own lives.

The UK government made some massive proposed changes to the UK ILR process. And it’s bad and good news.

The general pathway to an ILR is now 10 years instead of 5 years
High earners earning more than £125,140 & innovators & those on the Global Talent visa will be able to apply for an ILR in 3 years
Those earning between £50,270 and £125,140 could be eligible in 5 years and those earning less than £50,270 would be eligible in 10 years.

Time spent volunteering and competency in the English language are also factors which could reduce the wait.

Legal migrants who claim benefits for less than 12 months will have to wait 15 years

People who arrived on post-Brexit health and social care visas would have to wait 15 years, up from five year currently

Migrants reliant on benefits for more than 12 months face a 20-year wait for settlement, four times more than the current period and the longest in Europe

To qualify for ILR, migrants will have to be working, speak A-level standard English and have a clean criminal record.

What do you think of these changes?

Rush to immediately!! Boots is giving away free pouches with makeup worth £30 on a spend of £20 on makeup! And if you’ve raked in all those points like me, you can essentially get all of it for free! Great for gifting or even keeping yourself!

I saw three different types of makeup pouches but I’m guessing they won’t be there for long. Hurry!

Where in the UK would you NEVER live? See when you’re not in the UK, it’s difficult to understand which location is good / bad from a practical perspective and it’s only when you move here you understand why a place is ideal or not for you. So let’s help out anyone planning on moving here 🇬🇧❤️

You know how everyone is really on the brink with immigration as a whole right now?
If you’re an immigrant or an expat here’s 5 things you should avoid doing to stop making it worse for everyone
1. Turn off the speaker on your phone in public. No one wants to hear your phone calls or your music.
2. Please speak softly in public. Every other day there will be someone talking so loudly over the phone or to the person beside them. Calm down already
3. While it’s ok to practice your culture, don’t be inconsiderate of others - like bursting crackers at 1am or blasting your local music from your car with your windows down.
4. Don’t litter. Don’t spit, don’t leave bags of donation outside the donation bins if the bins are full.
5. Don’t cut queues whether it’s while driving or waiting to buy something
While these are basic rules of etiquette, I see so many people not following them and then as a result, everyone from that country gets tagged as uncultured. So please. Do better.

Do you know how much income tax you’ll have to pay if you move to the UK on a work visa? Well, let me tell you this, the average rate of income tax is 23%!! And it can go up to 45%

That’s close to half your salary. So if you are planning on moving to the UK, make sure you first check how much you’ll end up paying the government!
