Traveling through Italy for 85 days has both it’s huge rewards and occasional challenges. We’re two months in and while we’d like to say everything is rainbows, unicorns and flowers, there have been times that…let’s just say there was a layer of tension in the air.

Our planning has been impeccable except for one car rental snag of not having an international drivers license where both Capital One Travel should have known better and warned us and Europcar should have made sure we understood as well.

Other than that, we planned the perfect 85 day itinerary where the weather was stunning, warm, not too hot and only one day of rain. On top of that, we planned our trip to avoid the crowds and as we moved south, we avoided the tourist and the Italians who were on their August holiday as well.

Once we return to the US on Oct. 3rd and put in all the details about this trip and the itinerary, we’ll have it up on our website as a download for a very minimal fee if any is interested. 😉

As we write this, we’re currently sitting in one of the most beautiful and protected beaches in the world. Can any guess where we are?
